Reader’s Choice: The Results

Last month, you were given the chance to vote on which classic Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Chronicles novels will get new paperback editions for the 2021 Black Library Celebration. What did you choose? Let’s find out.

Of the five options from the 41st Millennium, the worthy winner with 36% of the vote was Dead Men Walking by Steve Lyons. It’s a tale of the Death Korps of Krieg, vat-grown soldiers born and bred to defend the Imperium, facing one of the few that are more emotionless than them – the dread ranks of the Necrons.

Dead Men Walking has been out of print for nearly a decade, so this will be a great chance to grab a copy for your bookshelf!

The winner in tales from the world-that-was is The Daemon’s Curse, the first volume of the Chronicles of Malus Darkblade. Written by Dan Abnett and Mike Lee, this novel adapts the origins of the dark elf rogue from Dan’s comic series. The story expands Darkblade’s world in a tale that takes him from Naggaroth to the Realm of Chaos. It’s the start of a series that is among the most beloved of Warhammer Chronicles stories.

You’ll be able to get both novels in paperback early next year as part of the Black Library Celebration. Sign up to the Black Library newsletter to stay informed about this and all the rest of what’s coming up.
