This year’s Black Library Celebration has an Ultramarines theme, but there’s plenty going on beyond Macragge in the event. Alongside The Swords of Calth and Uriel Ventris, you can get your hands on Dan Abnett’s latest Inquisition book, and a lot more besides. To give you a look at some of these other titles, we’re joined today by Black Library’s editorial overlord, Nick Kyme, in an exclusive video interview.
Liber Xenologis is a must-read for any fans of the myriad aliens of the 41st Millennium – or any staunch Imperial servant who wants to know their enemy.*
It details many of the Imperium’s most fearsome xenos foes, through the words of rogue trader Janus Draik (of Blackstone Fortress fame) and glorious artwork. Just take a closer look at some of what you’ll find inside.
Upon release, Liber Xenologis will only be available from games-workshop.com, but may be coming to a store near you in the future.
You can also pick up a set of pin badges themed around some of the galaxy’s more prominent alien races – perfect for displaying your xenos sympathies or perhaps used as trophies of the vile creatures you’ve killed in your games of Warhammer 40,000.
If you want something equally visual, but with more Space Marines, the second volume of the classic graphic novel Bloodquest is available to Print on Demand.
Presented in hardback and, for the first time ever, in full colour, this volume concludes the story of Blood Angels Captain Leonatos and his brothers, exiled into the Eye of Terror in search of a lost relic of the Chapter.
There’s plenty of prose there for you as well. The two novels that the community selected in last year’s Reader’s Choice vote are in paperback once more, bringing you a grim, dark tale of the war-bred Death Korps of Krieg, and the origins of the infamous dark elf rogue Malus Darkblade.
Every purchase from the Games Workshop webstore during the celebration also gets you a free short story anthology, which contains five tales from across the 41st Millennium and the Mortal Realms. With stories of the Black Templars, Gotrek Gurnisson, and more, it’s a perfect introduction to Warhammer fiction, and a great way to just enjoy a few tales you might not have read before.
Warhammer stores and selected stockists (the ones that are currently open) are joining the fun too, with copies of the anthology to give away once they’re available in-store. Locate your closest stockist with our Store Finder, and give them a call to check when they’ll have stock available.
You can pre-order all these books (and those badges) from this Saturday, the 20th of February. The short story anthology is only available while stocks last, so be sure to get your order in early to make sure you don’t miss it.
* Watch out though – that sort of thinking can lead to a visit from the Inquisition…
