Whoever said crime doesn’t pay obviously never visited the Dark City,* where the nefarious crime lords rule with impunity. Now, thanks to the Crusade rules in the Drukhari codex, you can join them.
The new codex introduces a range of unique rules that can be used alongside those in the Warhammer 40,000 Core Book to represent your Drukhari Crusade force. As your army grows, you can take advantage of Agendas, Requisitions, Battle Scars, and more to really personalise your force.
Soul Searching
If you’re going to be a real top dog in the criminal world, you need the fanciest gear to demonstrate your superiority. Grab a soul trap and claim rewards for slaying enemy Characters – it’s the Commorragh equivalent of a coffee shop loyalty card.
Home Sweet Home
As you fight battles, you’ll claim Raid Spoils points, which you can spend to dominate territories in Commorragh. Maybe you’ll end up with a Toxin Distillery to supply your troops with even deadlier poisons. It’s up to you whether you make single-malt or blended toxins though.
It’s one thing claiming a territory, but it’s another thing entirely keeping hold of it. If your Crusade force faces off against another Drukhari one, you’re in danger of losing one of your hard-earned territories. Of course, since you’re such a criminal genius, you’ll be the one taking theirs.
Enhancements of Evil
Whether you have your own Toxin Distillery or not, you can improve your poisoned weapons when a unit earns a Weapon Enhancement. There are six deadly toxins to choose from, including agonite which proves lethal to even the hardiest of warriors.
Ruthless Relics
Once you're a true crime lord, you might need to put a few people in their place from time to time. May we humbly recommend a Soulshard Grenade? Made from only the finest spirit stones taken from Aeldari psykers, it causes maximum carnage wherever it is thrown, perfect for keeping you on your villainous throne.
That’s just a taste of the awesome Crusade rules found in Codex: Drukhari, which is available to pre-order from Saturday. Make sure to grab an Archon to personify you on the tabletop as you rise up through the criminal ranks.
