Warhammer Quest: Cursed City introduces a new mechanic that means your gang of heroes can become tougher and deadlier as you play through the game’s punishing campaign – and they were pretty nifty to start with! Even better, as your fighters level up, they don’t need to go through a training montage in order to pick up new skills. Join Qulathis the Exile as she gains the traits necessary to rid an entire city of its undead curse.
Each of the heroes in Warhammer Quest: Cursed City fits into one of four classes – which all have six levels, and your fighters begin at level 0. As we can see from Qulathis’ card, she is an Executioner.
Executioners are exceptionally mobile killers and, as they reach higher levels, they can reliably deal damage AND evade any retaliation. Jelsen Darrock is also an Executioner, while Octren Glimscry and Cleona Zeitengale are Loremasters. The final two classes are Blades* and Stalwarts.**
As mentioned above, each hero starts at level 0 but gains experience every time they successfully complete a journey through Ulfenkarn.*** When a hero's level increases they gain a powerful trait that will come in handy when fighting Radukar and his minions.
Even better, these traits are cumulative. When Qulathis reaches level 3, for example, she will have the Quick Reflexes, Swift, AND Disciplined traits.
If you’re going to rescue Ulfenkarn, you’re going to need a good mix of heroes, all suitably levelled up, otherwise, the Cursed City will definitely remain cursed.
The new Warhammer Quest game will be available to pre-order soon. Make sure you visit the Cursed City website to learn more about the heroes who are set to bravely face the undead hordes in Ulfenkarn.
* Emelda Braskov and Glaurio ven Alten III fit in here.
** The ogor Brutogg Corpse-Eater and the Kharadron Overlord Dagnai Holdenstock are both Stalwarts.
*** We’ll be taking a closer look at the various journeys that you can take next week.
