There are many ways to build a Drukhari army with their new codex, and Battle Forge makes it easier than ever before to create army lists and try out new combinations. One of the best (and most fun) ways to collect the Drukhari is in Combat Patrol-sized chunks, themed around the Kabals, Cults, and Covens (or for the more internet savvy among you, the three Ws – Warriors, Wyches, and Wracks).
Once you’ve constructed your Combat Patrols, they can either be used in smaller sized games or, thanks to the rules in the codex, combined to make an army that the entire galaxy will fear. We’re going to share some suggestions for Drukhari Combat Patrols – one each for the Kabals, Wych Cults, and Haemonculus Covens – all clocking in at 500 points.
Kabal
The Ravager lets you blow up enemy targets from long range while your Kabalite Warriors zip around in the Raider, claiming objectives. The Archon and the Incubi offer a huge threat in close combat, giving you a nice, rounded army. Even better, it can be built from the contents of the Combat Patrol: Drukhari box.
Cult
Speed is the name of the game here. The Succubus and her retinue of Bloodbrides take the Venom, the larger unit of Wyches takes the Raider, and with support from the Hellions, you’ll wipe out your enemy before they even know what hit them.
Coven
Pop the Haemonculus in the centre so that his Master of Pain ability can provide an extra point of Toughness to the other units and then march this unstoppable mass of flesh and machine across the board. The Cronos, Wracks, and two Talos will tear apart anything that they charge into.
Putting the three Combat Patrols together gives you a great 1500-point army, with the Wracks and Engines of Pain giving you a solid centre, the Kabalite Warriors providing the firepower, and the Wyches bringing the pure speed. From there, you have some fantastic options to grow your army – add in more Kabalite Warriors, Wyches, or Wracks, depending on your preference. Then you can bring in a Razorwing Fighter or Voidraven Bomber to get some aerial support.
