The third entry in the Broken Realms saga is available for pre-order tomorrow, and it’s bringing a host of updates to various battletomes, just like Broken Realms: Morathi and Broken Realms: Teclis. We’ve already explored some of the army-wide boosts, and now we’re going a little deeper to look at individual units.
Let’s start with the Nighthaunts.
Dreadscythe Harridans
Lady Olynder’s new Sorrowmourn Choir warscroll battalion (up for pre-order tomorrow) includes a unit of these vicious killers, and they’re even more deadly than you remember. Now, one in every five Dreadscythe Harridans can be upgraded to a Slasher Crone, instead of just in one per unit – bring on those units of 20!
Their Harrowing Shriek is now even shriekier, affecting more units than before.
As if that wasn’t sufficiently terrifying, Murderous Bloodlust now triggers on a hit roll instead of a wound roll, which means you should get a lot more use out of it.
Of course, Nighthaunts are also getting a very creepy new support Hero.
Krulghast Cruciator
Having died in agony on the rack, these spirits understand well the power of suffering and torment. Now, they convert that same energy into death magic, strengthening nearby Nighthaunt units’ connection to the Mortal Realms.
The Cruciator will be available to pre-order tomorrow – add one to your Nighthaunt army for same added staying power.
Gardus Steel Soul
If you thought Stormcast Eternals were tough already, just wait until you see the Hallowed Knights led by the champion of the Rotwater Blight (read all about his rise to power in Hallowed Knights: Plague Garden). Gardus’ Aura of Purity makes him, and his host, tough to shift.
You can pre-order Gardus Steel Soul from tomorrow as well, so be sure to check back in when the orders go live.
Now for another Order faction. While their heavily armoured Kharadron kin get some big new changes to their Guild Triumphs, these decidedly underdressed Duardin have been hitting the gym. A couple of their heroes are looking pretty swole.
Doomseeker
Doomseekers are zealous warriors who will stop at nothing to slay their chosen mark in combat, or die trying. It would seem they’ve been putting in some time at those trendy axe-throwing pubs since the previous Fyreslayers battletome, and it shows!
On top of that, they’re even more dedicated to taking down their quarry. Take a look at their improved Oathbound ability.
Grimwrath Berzerker
Not to be outdone, Grimwrath Berzerkers get the same boost to their fyresteel throwing axes. They’ve also learned some new tricks in the form of a set of Grimwrath Oaths. You can choose which one you want to use for the duration of your game, adding loads of tactical depth. Here are three of the six to give you an idea.
And now for the daemon of the hour himself...
Be’lakor, the Dark Master
You didn’t think an epic new model was the only big news for Be’lakor, did you? As it turns out, he’s getting sick and tired of getting passed over for glory, and has finally decided to reveal the true extent of his power.
Be’lakor plays the long game, manipulating his enemies for years in tiny, imperceptible ways, until they eventually end up walking right into his snares. In your games, this is represented by an improved ability to essentially shut a unit down for a turn – which can mean the difference between winning or losing a game.
Be’lakor’s updated warscroll makes him faster, stronger, and tougher than ever before, as befitting such an ancient evil. If the model didn’t make you want to add him to your collection, his rules will.
You don’t have long to wait before you see all the rest of the updates in Broken Realms: Be’lakor – check back tomorrow and secure a copy. Just as with the Broken Realms: Morathi and Broken Realms: Teclis, it will be available in standard hardback, digital, and a truly beautiful limited edition.
