Kill Team is the name of the game in September’s issue of White Dwarf, as the design team take a deep dive into the thinking behind this totally rebuilt system. You might also find a few tidbits about how to play your Adeptus Mechanicus kill teams too – if this not at all obscure or ambiguous cover didn’t give it away already.

As mentioned, this month’s magazine is a cornucopia of Kill Team content, in which the game’s developers talk through some of the major design decisions that were made, such as how the attack sequence was redefined and how movement and positioning were made to be such a crucial part of the game.
On top of that, you’ll be treated to two features on how the Adeptus Mechanicus operates kill teams in the lore and on the tabletop, as well as rules for running a Hunter Clade variant kill team. This is a different type of Adeptus Mechanicus kill team than the one detailed in the Kill Team: Compendium, and is just the kind of Kill Team content you can expect in future editions of White Dwarf.
Meanwhile, there are more than just kill teams fighting for the Octarius Sector.
Conflict in the Octarius Sector continues,** and in this month’s Flashpoint you’ll find no fewer than eight tentacular pages of modelling and painting guides to help you make the most of the teeming multitudes of Hive Fleet Leviathan.
To face such monstrosities, the Imperium calls upon its greatest hunters, and among those who answer are the predatory Wolfspear chapter.
One of a very few known successor Chapters of the Space Wolves, these cold and taciturn Primaris Space Marines revel in hunting the enemies of the Emperor. This issue of White Dwarf contains not only lore, squad markings, and a full codex supplement, but also a rather handsome transfer sheet and three Stratagem cards for the Wolfspear.
There’s plenty in White Dwarf 468 for generals of the Mortal Realms, too.
Tome Celestial: Slaves to Darkness is a huge boon to Chaos worshippers. Including rules updates spanning six pages, this considerable battletome update presents revamped allegiance abilities and core battalions, as well as new rules for open and matched play formats, and a suite of rules for using Slaves to Darkness in Path to Glory campaigns. This bevy of official rulings comes straight from the game designers – an official, tournament-legal update to Battletome: Slaves to Darkness itself – so don’t get caught without them when you bring your forces of the Everchosen to your next event.
You’ll also find a complete Usurpation of Power campaign pack, in which the forces of Be’lakor attempt to seize strategically important land in Shyish from Archaon the Everchosen – a classic Chaos-on-Chaos conflict complete with a campaign map and location tables.
