Meet Wilhelm Chaney – the Goodest Boy To Ever Play Blood Bowl

Jim: Blood Bowl really is the most inclusive sport, wouldn’t you say, Bob?

Bob: It sure is, Jim. You don’t even need to be alive to play it.

Jim: Indeed, it doesn’t matter what you were before your Blood Bowl career. Just look at Hall-of-Famer Wilhelm Chaney. He’s a werewolf!

It’s time to unveil the latest Blood Bowl legend to make a return to the gridiron – Star Player Wilhelm Chaney.

Old hands – and anyone who’s read Spike! Journal Issue 11 – will undoubtedly be familiar with this four-time Goodest Boy Award-winner, and we can now reveal his incredible new miniature for the first time. Awoo!

The design faithfully recreates the personality captured by the artwork of the beloved werewolf with incredible accuracy, from his torn uniform and winged skull emblem to the way he devours his catch.

At the beginning of his career, the Wolfman struggled to adapt to life on the pitch. While he could seamlessly catch almost every ball that came his way, Chaney had a bad habit of returning the ball to the thrower, dropping it at their feet and allowing the opposition to scoop it up and score.

This foible got him in the doghouse with fans, but his coach dismissed the criticism as he was only doing what he had been trained to do.

Over the next few seasons, Chaney became the team’s leading point scorer. But when the team folded, he embarked on a highly successful career as a lone wolf, snapped up by any team who could afford him.

Being a werewolf, Wilhelm Chaney combines great speed and ferocity, yet what sets him apart from other wolves is his Catch skill. He’s a great target for a hand-off or short pass as his MA of 8 lets him bound off toward the End Zone at high speed on completion.

Chaney also has an increased Strength of 4 – a huge advantage when it comes to shoving opposing players into the crowd with a follow-up block from his Frenzy skill. The Wolfman can also take out more heavily armed players with his Claws and Savage Mauling special rule.

Wilhelm Chaney makes an exceptional addition to any Sylvanian Spotlight team. If you like your players undead and unburied, keep an eye out for more about this wonderfully characterful model when the moon is full (or, you know, nearer the time of its release).
