The big bad Warboss Mozrog Skragbad is arriving for pre-order tomorrow, along with a few more of his Orky minions. He was so keen to get stuck in that we sent him out to join a Waaagh!s early. A few of our favourite painters have tackled him and his Great White Squig – and the results are spectacular.
Mozrog Skragbad
Alison Kersley rendered Big Chompa in his classic pale, squiggy glory, contrasting him and Mozrog’s skin with splashes of bright red and yellow. Check out that candy-cane thump gun, which is definitely more dangerous than its cheery paint job implies.
The squigosaur’s teeth have sharky vibes, and Meg Harkness explored this by giving Big Chompa a beautiful tiger shark skin pattern.
Beastboss on Squigosaur
Warlords who don’t roll with the Snakebites can assemble this versatile kit as a clan-agnostic Beastboss on Squigosaur.
Máryse Ouellet, whose bright-purple Praetors dazzled in our Dominion showcase, chose an equally colourful palette to ensure their Boss stands out on the battlefield.
Vincent Knotley made his squigosaur look especially intimidating with some deep shadows around the face and pure white, beady eyes.
Regular contributor Vince Venturella also took inspiration from the animal kingdom, using oranges and browns for a tigerish air. He replaced the slugga with a wicked-looking spear, giving his Beastboss a primal, low-tech look that almost wouldn’t be out of place in an orruk warclans army.
Sam Lenz also took a bright-orange approach, breaking up the rough squig hide by painting an intricate blue pattern by hand on the squigosaur’s side and face.
Finally, Pete Harrison went all-out on his Beastboss, coupling a vibrant scheme with several inspired modifications to create Freebooterz Kaptin Ironandz. His wonderful hat reminds us of a certain other light-fingered Warboss, and careful customisation of Mozrog’s own arms gives this Kaptin the two bionic arms that give him his name.
Do you have any plans for your own Beastboss on Squigosaur? Will Mozrog Skragbad join your Waaagh! when he arrives for pre-order tomorrow? Let us know on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, and don’t forget to brush up on all the other pre-orders arriving this Saturday.
