It’s October, and that means one thing – this year’s Armies on Parade contest is officially open for entries.
We’ve shown you some amazing entries from previous years for inspiration over the last few weeks, covered how to put together eye-catching displays, and even asked a veteran hobbyist to give us a blow-by-blow of his progress.
Now it’s time to submit your own meticulously painted models and awe-inspiring display boards!
Digital submissions are now open – you have until the 31st of October to enter. If you’re ready to go right now, feel free to do so. But if you want to take your time and add those finishing touches, just make sure it’s in by the end of the month.
We’ll celebrate the event on the Warhammer Twitch channel with a Parade Day and Live Awards show on the 20th of November, when our panel of expert judges will hand out Gold, Silver, and Bronze trophies in three categories – Best of Warhammer 40,000, Best of Warhammer Age of Sigmar, and Best of the Rest.
As ever, our judges will be handing out a range of one-off awards as well for the inevitable and ever-surprising submissions that blow us away. Last year there were a host of special categories including the Loonboss’s Fun Guy award, the Top Tread Head award, and the Architect of Nehekhara award, all of which you can see here.
Alongside the glory of having their entries drooled over by millions, the major category winners will win a trophy, while the special category winners will receive a medal. Every winner will receive their choice of Start Collecting! or Combat Patrol box – the perfect head start on next year’s competition...
To submit your entry, send an email to armiesonparade2021@gwplc.com, including the following details:
Your full name
Where in the world you’re from (e.g. Nottingham, UK)
Which category you’re submitting to (e.g. Best of Warhammer 40,000)
Your army (e.g. Orks)
At least five well-taken pictures*
Here’s a checklist of the kind things that our judges are looking for in your entries. This is by no-means comprehensive, or a list of things you must do – check out previous winners to see how varied things can be!
Retail stores are also taking part this year, and so check with your local store to get all the details on how to join in locally. If you want to be in with a chance of appearing on our Parade Day live show, you’ll still need to submit your entry online
You have until the 31st of October to enter your display, so get building, painting, fine-tuning, and photographing! That’s everything you should need to know to enter, but here’s a comprehensive FAQ that covers all the fine details. Finally, if you’re sharing your entries online, use #ArmiesOnParade2021 to connect with hobbyists around the world. As with every event, terms and conditions apply.
