How Does a Blood Bowl Star Earn a Name Like ‘The Verminator’? Try Being Banned for Life 27 Times

Jim: Welcome back, sports fans, to another dazzling exposé from our… usually pitchside reporter. Where exactly is Alyssa, Bob?

Bob: Well Jim, today’s Star Player is a bit of a wild card, and poor Alyssa didn’t feel safe nearby on account of her flimsy elven bones.

Jim: So she’s up in the stands then?

Bob: ‘Fraid so, Jim. Do you want to tell her it won’t help, or should I?

Alyssa: Few Blood Bowl players have caused as much damage in such a short time as Kreek ‘The Verminator’ Rustgouger, perhaps the greatest Skaven creation ever to walk the pitch. After observing the rising success of Goblin teams in the Underworld Challenge, Clan Rigens rightly deduced it was down to their frequent use of secret weapons and resolved to build their own.

Kreek made his debut for the Warpfire Wanderers in style by taking out nearly half of the Dragon Crag Dirtbags, earning him his nickname and an immediate reputation for ball-and-chain brutality. His shockingly violent antics have earned the Verminator no fewer than 27 lifetime bans over the course of his career, none of which have managed to stick following public outcry, pressure from sponsors, and the frequent disappearance of match officials.

The giant nugget of warpstone Kreek swings on the pitch is a frightening prospect for any opposing team, its wielder bounding between players with unnatural agility while smashing their skulls in a blood-soaked rampage. Fans and sponsors alike love watching the Verminator lay waste to the gridiron, and the pressure to prolong his time on the pitch leads many referees to overlook even the most glaring fouls.

His overwhelming physical presence makes Kreek a popular choice for Underworld Challenge teams looking to add punch to their line-up, and with both the Prehensile Tail and Mighty Blow skills, he’s got plenty of defensive potential when not causing mayhem with his Ball & Chain.

Despite all of that ability packed into a single player, the Verminator commands an extremely competitive fee of just 170,000 GP. We can only assume he doesn’t care much for material possessions, and that thankfully does nothing to dim the enthusiasm he has for classic Blood Bowl ultraviolence. Back to you in the commentary box, Jim and Bob.

Bob: You know I like a big, smashing lunk on the pitch Jim, and Kreek has got to be one of my favourites.

Jim: That’s high praise for a Skaven, Bob. Are you sure you aren’t going soft?

Bob: Not as soft as the players from his last match ended up, Jim.

Kreek ‘The Verminator’ Rustgouger is available for pre-order soon, so keep an eye out for more news from Warhammer Community to learn when you can add him to your Underworld Challenge and Favoured Of… teams.
