Good All-rounders, Most Killy, or Best for Pets – A Guide to Warhammer Underworlds Warbands

Thanks to the new Rivals format, which does away with the need for deckbuilding, there’s never been an easier or better time to get into Warhammer Underworlds. Along with the fresh format, the upcoming season brings with it two new warbands – Da Kunnin’ Krew and Xandire’s Truthseekers.

Every warband that's been released for Warhammer Underworlds can be used in the Rivals format* – so with all those options, how do you decide which one is right for you? As the Harrowdeep boxed set is available to pre-order soon, we’ve pulled together this handy guide to selecting a warband that matches how you like to play.

Each of the following warbands comes with its own faction specific deck, so as soon as you’ve assembled your miniatures, you’re ready to start playing Warhammer Underworlds.

Best for When You Just Want To Kill All Your Enemies

The Crimson Court, Morgok’s Krushas, Khagra’s Ravagers, Morgwaeth’s Blade-coven, and Ironsoul’s Condemnors are the best choices if you want to rush headlong into your enemies and smite them with righteous anger.

Best for Unleashing Magic

Fancy yourself as a bit of a wizard? Hedkrakka’s Madmob, the Wurmspat, the Starblood Stalkers, and Myari’s Purifiers are perfect for you. And you can hire them out for children’s birthday parties.

Best for a Bit of Everything

Want to be pretty good at everything? Sadly, you can’t select Space Marines for Warhammer Underworlds, but Lady Harrow’s Mounflight, Drepur’s Wraithcreepers, the Storm of Celestus, the Dread Pageant, and Kainan’s Reapers are all pretty handy in a fight AND at claiming objective tokens.

Best for Pets

Warhammer Underworlds is no place to go unless you’re taking your furry, fishy, or winged companion. Elathain’s Soulraid, the Grymwatch, Hrothgorn’s Mantrappers, and Rippa’s Snarlfangs all show that you’re better off bringing your pet to work.

Now that you know which warband best matches your preferred playstyle, head over to Games-Workshop.com or your local store and grab them in preparation for the new season of Warhammer Underworlds.

The Harrowdeep boxed set is available to pre-order soon, and we’ve got a load of Warhammer Underworlds flavoured articles for you to enjoy next week, including a closer look at exactly what’s in the upcoming box. In the meantime, join us over on the Warhammer Underworlds Facebook page to let us know which warband you’ll be using.

* Warbands from Shadespire and Nightvault can join in the fun by using the Silent Menace deck.
