Earlier this year, Warhammer World successfully reopened after closing for a time to ensure the safety of staff and customers. Since then our excellent Events team have run a slew of successful events, welcoming players back to play Warhammer 40,000, Warhammer Age of Sigmar, The Horus Heresy, and more.
Now, following a bit of disruption to the site in November, Warhammer World is back in action and excited to introduce two new events in the new year, for Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team and Warhammer Age of Sigmar.
After the success of Kill Team events in the autumn, players are invited to participate in a team tournament. Twenty teams of three players will clash in six games across two days, exercising their prowess in the ultimate sci-fi skirmish game. Games will be played on lavish terrain setups designed and built specifically with Kill Team in mind.
Fast and tactical, Kill Team gives canny commanders plenty of opportunities to show off their strategic skills, as well as their artistic skills with the Best Painted Kill Team award.
With the Era of the Beast in full swing, titanic monsters continue to clash in the feral wilds of Ghur.
If you fancy your chances in this savage contest between generals, the Warhammer Age of Sigmar Matched Play tournament will bring 60 players together to battle and show off lovingly painted armies.
Tickets for both events go on sale from EventBrite on the 6th of December.
Warhammer World Exhibitions and Christmas Opening Hours
If you’re thinking of visiting Warhammer World during December, be aware that the opening hours will be slightly different over the holidays. Check the schedule below to make sure you don’t get caught out!*
While you’re there, be sure to check out the Flight of the Thunderhawks exhibition, which displays the Warhammer Community team’s Aeronautica Imperialis miniatures alongside a classic metal version of the Space Marines’ signature gunship. Be quick, though – you’ve only got until the 5th of December.
Miniature displays of the Mortal Realms will be closed between the 13th and the 17th of December while the team install an awesome new Warhammer Age of Sigmar diorama in the Exhibition Hall, so be sure to plan your visit around that, too!
Warhammer Events in the US
For those of you who have been enjoying the exhilarating US Open, or following our coverage on Metawatch, the final is nearly upon us…
Taking place at the Warhammer Citadel Store and Cafe in Grapevine, Texas on the 4th and 5th of December, this grand celebration of Warhammer gaming and hobbying will be an incredible capstone to a thrilling season of events.
And if you’re venturing to PAX Unplugged in December, we’re going to be there with a store, demo games, painting opportunities, and the very special Kill Team Live – an opportunity to grab a shoota or a lasgun and play out a real-life Kill Team mission in laser tag form with your friends!
Don’t miss out on this wealth of upcoming events by signing up for the Warhammer newsletter.
* Hobgrots and Gitz do battle in the grounds surrounding Warhammer World, and we’d hate for you to get strong-armed into a proxy fight by either of these cowardly factions.
