The Shadow Throne boxed set is just over the horizon and December is packed with Warhammer 40,000 goodness, so we’re celebrating the 41st Millennium in all its dubious glory with this month’s Commemorative Coin.
These coins are available on a strictly first come, first served basis, so get down to your local Warhammer store from Saturday the 4th of December and ask your store manager how you can get the coin and miniature.
Don’t forget that if you’ve collected at least six different monthly coins you can pick up a lovely display album to keep them in. Simply show your coins to the store manager and they’ll hand one over.*
You can also lay the groundwork of your very own Genestealer Cults with December’s Miniature of the Month, a Neophyte Hybrid.** Even the greatest movements start with just one person, and this cheerful chap is perfect for testing out that colour scheme you have in mind for your next Genestealer Cults force.
It’s an exciting narrative campaign in its own right, but Shadow Throne is also a great way to inaugurate new Genestealer Cults and Adeptus Custodes armies. Newcomers to the hobby can find a ton of fun activities in the Battle Honours program. You can earn excellent rewards by completing the step-by-step guides on collecting, building, painting, playing, and reading about Warhammer.
Need a few paints for your Miniature of the Month? The Pick ‘n’ Mix Paint Set available in-store gives you 10 pots for the price of nine, perfect for a new army. If you’re looking to get your Cultist Battle Ready, you’ll definitely want some Druchii Violet for that sickly purple skin tone, which goes perfectly over the top of Cadian Fleshtone. Paint up the mining gear with Mechanicus Standard Grey, and the undersuits with Corvus Black, then highlight them both with Administratum Grey. Mephiston Red and Kantor Blue are great for lenses and scraps of cloth, and Retributor Armour is ideal for any cult trinkets. If you’re picking up Shadow Throne then that same gold – and many of the other paints noted – are ideal for the Adeptus Custodes hunting these xenos infiltrators.
