Codex: T'au Empire is available to pre-order this Saturday, and although massive shotguns and maverick commanders are dominating the discussion, the Fire Caste's rigorous training is an equally potent part of the new toolkit, and a new crop of Stratagems put it all at your fingertips.
Every member of the Fire Caste, from raw recruit to supreme commander, is drilled in support manoeuvres, coordinating their volleys with nearby allies for maximum effect. This barrage of firepower can bring down heavily armoured targets, as the sheer weight of fire makes hitting weak spots inevitable.
Units that can get close to their targets quickly, such as Stealth Battlesuits and Fire Warriors inside improved Devilfish transports, can make the most out of this Stratagem. By combining it with the Mont'ka Tactical Philosophy, basic infantry weapons become armour-melting nightmares at close range that threaten even power armoured foes.
Alongside new upgrades of their own, the Kroot have learned how to synergise with nearby allies. Whether these allies know or appreciate that they're being used as bait is of lesser concern.
Even when Fire Warriors find themselves isolated, they can display incredible courage in close combat. Instead of flailing with clumsy bayonets and combat knives, they grit their teeth and fire at point-blank range, surprising enemy assault troops expecting easy kills.
Although the T'au and their allies are fully capable of winning battles with skill and teamwork alone, some foes deserve nothing less than a massive ion blast from space. Unlike the Imperium’s crude lance strikes, T'au ion beams are a precision tool to vaporise scores of enemies as they etch a deadly script across the battlefield.
Command your hunter cadres with all-new Stratagems, Sept Tenets, and Crusade rules when Codex: T'au Empire pre-orders go live this Saturday.
