As you will no doubt remember, last year’s Warhammer Skulls Festival saw the announcement of a successor to 1998’s legendary Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate. This upcoming strategy game sees players command a squad of elite Grey Knights as they delve into the bowels of warp-tainted worlds – and when the game arrives on the 5th of May, you can finally help the Knights of Titan root out a sinister daemonic plague known as the Bloom.
While your Grey Knights venture forth from their ship, the Baleful Edict, their activities are monitored by Grand Master Vardan Kai, voiced by legendary actor Andy Serkis (The Lord of the Rings™, The Planet of the Apes). We caught up with Andy to discuss all things Chaos Gate: Daemonhunters, and how Vardan would be keeping hands-on with our Grey Knights.
As the player takes their squad into the field, Grand Master Vardan Kai is on campaign elsewhere, advising from afar.* And as Steward of the Armoury, he will reward your victorious daemonhunters with precious wargear from Titan’s vaults – and quickly tire of a squad that doesn’t meet his high expectations.
Players can embark on this epic quest – with a story penned by bestselling Black Library author Aaron Dembski-Bowden – when Chaos Gate: Daemonhunters launches on the 5th of May. It is available to pre-order now for the PC, via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
