We have only just showed off the incredible new miniatures for Cado Ezechiar and Drekki Flynt at Warhammer Fest Online, but what’s the best way to learn about these two characters? Well, they both have a pair of Black Library short stories that you can read right now – here’s what you need to know.
Drekki Flynt
Some say Drekki Flynt is a pirate and merciless profiteer. Others claim he’s a benevolent rogue who steals from the rich to give to the poor. For this Kharadron Overlords adventurer, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.
Drekki made his Black Library debut in The Lost Karak, which sees him discover an old duardin hold. Can he make a profit and honour the ancestors at the same time?
The next time we meet Drekki, he’s in trouble with the grots in Krenkha Gorogna. Can his silver tongue keep him alive long enough for him to hatch an escape plan, or will his tale of derring-do fail to impress his captors?
Both short stories will get you ready for Drekki’s first full-length novel, The Arkanaut’s Oath, which is coming soon from Black Library.
Cado Ezechiar
Better known as the Hollow King, Cado Ezechair is a Soulblight Gravelord who wanders the Realm of Death seeking redemption for his kingdom. Aided by the bound spirits of those he lost, he follows a path of revenge against the forces of Chaos.
His first Black Library short story, Beasts: The Road of the Hollow King, finds him ambushed by a mysterious figure and hunted by a deadly monster. Will his skills be enough to emerge unscathed?
In Tower of Empty Mirrors, we join Cado hot on the heels of the Cult of the Burning Hand, a shadowy group who were responsible for the death of his family. Will a sorcerer in a mysterious tower have the clues that he needs to finally claim vengeance?
This vampire will find himself caught in a web of war and deceit in the city of Aventhis in his first full-length novel, The Hollow King, also coming soon from Black Library.
Both characters have also starred in their own White Dwarf stories – catch up with Drekki in issue 470 and Cado in issue 471, which are both available to read on Warhammer Vault as part of your Warhammer+ subscription.
We’ll have more on Drekki Flynt and Cado Ezechiar, their rules, and their new novels as we get closer to their release. In the meantime, sign up for the Black Library newsletter to keep up with the latest news.
