Pinch, punch, it’s the first of the month… The start of July brings with it a new theme for Armies on Parade 2022, and between now and the end of August, we’re looking for you to submit your painted projects depicting all things magical or mechanical*.
Before we get on to next month’s theme, however, let's take a look at some of the incredible work that has been done by the Warhammer community in May and June.
We were looking for your Gods of War – be that an actual Chaos God, or a god-like figure from the 41st millennium, the Mortal Realms, and Middle-earth™.
Starting off with a literal deity, this stunning depiction of Kragnos, the End of Empires gives us nasty, evil vibes aplenty!
We also loved the dark, atmospheric energy coming from Lloyd Davies’ Szarekh, The Silent King.
The incredible water base on this Spirit of the Wind really jumped out at us, plus the rest of the model is super crisp too!
Finally, Meg Harkness’ take on Alarielle the Everqueen just screams goddess – amazing work!
After all that focus on god-like ethereal energy, we thought we’d switch it up a bit this month and set a theme of Wizards and Warmachines.
This opens up the brief to a huge range of possibilities from dark sorcerers like Ahriman, or those with better morals such as Gandalf™ (the Grey or the White), to epic bringers of destruction like the Warmaster Battle Titan or the more conservative** Leman Russ tank.
Whatever you choose, the end of August will be upon us sooner than we all might realise, but if you’re super organised you could start preparing for the final brief of the year which focuses on the Field of Battle – perhaps it’s time to pick up some battlefield terrain?
