There’s something big coming for Kill Team – as we saw on Sunday – but those who can’t wait for their next dose of cinematic far-future skirmish combat will have plenty to salivate over in the latest edition of White Dwarf.
Issue 478 of this august Warhammer publication has a huge wad of Kill Team goodies, alongside a short story by Black Library luminary Adrian Tchaikovsky, and a stack of other fabulous features.
We kick things off with Kill Team Engage! – a hard-fought narrative campaign between five members of the White Dwarf team. Then there’s the Killzone Register – a bundle of enhanced rules for creating your own killzone using the many terrain pieces available in the Warhammer 40,000 range, giving you a much wider selection of battlefield features to fight over. In all there are 16 exciting terrain traits for use in your games – some compiled from other Kill Team expansions, and some brand new!

There’s also The Depths of Duty, a short story that sees Krieg Veterans sent on a suicide mission – their favourite kind – against the Traitor Guard of the Gundian 4th. Finally, Elliot Hamer, a key operative on the Warhammer Studio’s own Kill Team, reflects on the first year of the new game system – and casts a discerning eye over a few of his favourite operatives released so far.
This month’s taste of Warhammer fiction comes in the form of A Taste of Lightning, an exclusive Warhammer Age of Sigmar short story from one of the biggest new names in Black Library fiction – the acclaimed author Adrian Tchaikovsky.*
Then there are all your monthly favourites, including a breakdown of the latest Chapter Approved mission pack from Warhammer 40,000’s very own warlord, Robin Cruddace, and the same treatment for the newest General’s Handbook from Louis Aguilar for Warhammer Age of Sigmar.
Plus there’s coverage of Warhammer Underworlds, the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game™, and much excitement for Warhammer: The Horus Heresy – especially for the six generals preparing their Legions to invade Mortarion’s home world of Barbarus…
White Dwarf 478 is available to pre-order right now from the Games Workshop webstore.
