Kill Team: Into the Dark is available for pre-order this weekend, and it comes packed with rules for two new kill teams perfectly suited to fighting in the close confines of an ancient and mysterious Space Hulk. The Kroot Farstalker Kinband specialise in ambush tactics and close combat, while the Imperial Navy Breachers have short-range hitting power and steely determination.
The Kroot Kill-broker is the Kinband’s leader, prioritising targets for their kindred while laying down a withering hail of pulse fire and disorienting nearby foes with a hurled photon grenade.
The Kill-broker’s cunning and experience isn’t limited to the killzone– they’ve negotiated contracts with employers across the galaxy, giving them great flexibility when selecting objectives.
The Mercenary Contract Tactical Ploy allows you to choose a Tac Op that suits your kill team regardless of their chosen archetype – so you can have your Kroot Tracker score a Recon objective like Mark Target even while the rest of the team pursues Search & Destroy objectives.
All Kroot are experts at using terrain to their advantage, and the Gallowdark contains plenty of pipes, consoles, and corners to hide behind, helping them evade enemy firepower. The Farstalker Kinband’s Rogue ability brings that specialty into the killzone, helping you to creep in close by retaining extra saves from Cover.
Imperial Navy Breacher teams are commanded by an experienced Sergeant-at-Arms, whose experience in ship-to-ship combat makes them excellent leaders.
These seasoned officers can choose how they want to Command Breach at the start of each mission – whether you’re here to hold the line or blow open bulkheads, you’ll get a Strategic Ploy of your choice for free all game long.
The Attack Order and Defence Order Strategic Ploys highlight the coordination of these Navy teams, allowing you to focus your kill team’s attention on a critical point and give nearby operatives a powerful bonus. Plan your assault to get the most out of these re-rolls!
The Breachers’ Tac Ops reflect their aggressive, in-your-face play style by rewarding quick movement through the killzone – for instance when you’re occupying the enemy bridge with Into the Breach.
You can get your first taste of these two kill teams in action by signing up to Warhammer+ and watching the latest episode of Battle Report at Warhammer TV. With your interest in close-quarters skirmish action piqued, pre-order Kill Team: Into the Dark this Saturday, and begin your adventures into the Gallowdark.
