Released in 1999, the plastic Khorne Berzerkers are one of the very oldest Warhammer kits still in active service. They’ve claimed a veritable mountain of skulls over the past 23 years, and spilled oceans of blood in the name of Khorne – but it’s now time for them to roar their farewell speeches and shuffle off for a well-earned retirement.
There’s a new generation of Khorne Berzerkers in town, and they’re raring to go.
The new warriors have retained that classic Berzerker look – the horned helmets, the spiky trim, the devastating close-combat weapons – but they’re bigger, meaner, and angrier than ever before.
We’re sensing a theme – chainaxes and chainswords, in both one-and-two-handed varieties. As you’d expect, this is a versatile kit that allows for a lot of build options, including those iconic crested helmets, and plenty of bare-headed options with their Butcher’s Nails on full display.
Some of the squad even have plasma pistols – and you know Khorne demands you only ever fire them at full power.*
There’s plenty more coming for the World Eaters, and though it’s still a while away, it’ll be well worth the wait for everyone who’s not in charge range.
And that’s not it for the future of Warhammer 40,000. Here’s the roadmap for the next half-year or so.
These aren’t the only big revelations from the NOVA open – check back here for all the day’s previews.
* This is not in the rules, it’s just the proper way to venerate the God of Slaughter.
