The Leagues of Votann army set heads to pre-order this weekend, loaded with everything the Kin need to wage war. After all, these stocky space-farers governed by godlike gestalt machine consciousnesses are no stranger to the endless battles of the 41st Millenium.
Their Votann Ancestor Cores contain stockpiles of STCs long lost to the Imperium, original templates and schematics for powerful weaponry that the Kin can modify and update to their specifications. These stout folk have many guns – big, small, straightforward, and strange. Put simply, they are stacked with firepower.
The most common variety are HunTR weapons. Autoch-pattern bolters, EtaCarn plasma beamers, HYLas auto rifles and more besides are all fitted with smart HunTR modules which employ gravitic nudge-assist to help when aiming.
A weapon with the HunTR type is subject to all the usual restrictions around shooting, but it simply fires as many shots as are listed – sturdy and reliable, just like their wielders.
Magna-rail guns, meanwhile, do damage the Imperium can only dream of, and they’re even infantry portable – as with the magna-rail rifle fielded by Hearthkyn Warrior specialists. They fire lethal projectiles at incredible speeds through the application of linear accelerators.
This high velocity round punctures heavy armour, force fields, psychic barriers, and heavy chitin alike. Invulnerable saving throws cannot prevent damage from these weapons, and unmodified wound rolls of a six cause damage to spill over as the projectile draws a bloody line through a squad.
The Beam weapons mounted on the likes of the Hekaton Land Fortress are even more deadly. These complex configurations of lenses, stream modulators, and capacitor-shunts are constantly revised and improved by the Brôkhyr with one goal: a devastating beam of death to carve up hapless foes.
The SP heavy conversion beamer, for example, fires in a straight line to a target model within range of the user. Each successful hit roll scores a hit against the initial target – and also on every enemy unit below that line!*
With mounting threats on all sides, the Leagues of Votann will need to eke every joule of power out of these unique weapons to secure the resources they need to prosper in the grim darkness of the far future.
You’ll be able to familiarise yourself with their whole armoury in Codex: Leagues of Votann, which is included in the upcoming League of Votann Army Set. It even comes with a special cover, as a neat bonus for being one of the first to swear oaths of allegiance to the Leagues. There’s yet more to come from the Leagues of Votann this week, so keep checking back here.
