This weekend, Warhammer hobbyists fought it out – not with armies on tabletop battlefields – but with miniatures painted to the best of their considerable abilities, in an effort to claim a coveted Golden Demon trophy.
Golden Demon is the pinnacle of painting prestige, a legendary competition that’s been around for 35 years, where painters compete for awards in a wide variety of categories.
The apex prize at each event is the coveted Slayer Sword, claimed by whomever the judges consider to have painted the best miniature of the whole weekend, regardless of category.*
The most anticipated event was awarding the Slayer Sword to the best painter of the weekend. We’re proud to reveal the winner right here, the painting champion who wowed the judges with their perfect brushwork.
Incredible work – as is only to be expected from a soul worthy of such a mighty blade.
You’ll be able to check out the rest of the winners from every category on Warhammer Community next week, and get your first look at information for next year’s Golden Demon.
* This year’s US variant of Golden Demon awarded Gavin Garza the Slayer Sword for his spear-hoisting skink from the Starblood Stalkers.
