With the arrival of vehicles in Necromunda’s Book of the Outlands, we’ve been zooming buggies, dirtbikes, choppers, and jetbikes all across the ragged surface of the ash wastes – not to mention a whole host of custom cars, trucks, walkers, mechanical horses, weaponised hearses, and anti-grav wagons.
It’s been great to get out there on the open road, but do you ever wonder where the fuel comes from?
Sure, the Ash Wastes boxed set includes a Fuel Hunt scenario, in which your gangs of eccentric criminal roughnecks scuffle to secure a few extra barrels of that sweet promethium… but that’s strictly small-time.
Puzzle no longer, as we unveil the 41st Millennium’s answer to the energy crisis – the Promethium Tank Refuelling Station! That’s right, you can finally replicate that rural petrol station experience – minus the off-brand snacks and broken toilet* – in your games of Necromunda.
This modular scenery set contains four promethium tanks, built using interchangeable segments that allow you to choose the height of each tank. These come with two platforms – definitely the safest place to be in a firefight – and two overflow tanks with easy-access ladders.
Plus, there’s a bunch of fuel station accessories – two crates with a choice of contents, two hoses, four wrenches, four blowtorches, and two spanner sets.
These parts can be used in numerous combinations, and the kit as a whole is compatible with a variety of plastic terrain kits – including the Cargo-8 Ridgehauler, the Cargo-8 Trailer, and various other fuel pipes. You’ll even be able to buy a trailer-tank set specifically for carting promethium around the ash wastes.
But that’s not all! As you’d expect – nay, insist – from an unmanned repository of intensely volatile high-yield future fuel, the kit includes special rules for using the Promethium Tank Refuelling Stations.
These can only be found in the construction booklet included in the box, and they include highlights such as Liquid Creds for selling your fiery bounty, Free Fuel for keeping those flamers lit, Fuel Slicks for slipping and sliding all over the place, and Kaboom! for… well, you can probably guess.
This kit is just the thing to spice up your ash wastes dust-ups, and it’ll be available for pre-order almost before you know it!
