War is ever-present in the Age of Sigmar, and the god of slaughter slakes his thirst on the blood spilled upon countless battlefields. The followers of the Blood God are gripped by a half-mad frenzy, rampaging across the realms, and laying waste to all before them.
This is an excellent time to be big, red, muscular and have a thing for brass accessories. Khorne’s intense gaze is fixed on your battles, and he’ll grant his gory benedictions to those who please him
Though he is a very serious god who cares not from whence the blood flows, Khorne does prefer it if his warriors can get into glorious melee combat without being whittled down by ranged weaponry. Locus of Fury provides his daemons with a 5+ Ward when they are more than 8” away from enemy units, though if they have the gall to retreat, the Lord of Skulls will snatch the blessing away.
Khorne’s mortal followers may not gain the benefit of a suspiciously sorcerous save from ranged attacks, but their own rage knows few bounds. When a Bloodbound warrior is slain in melee combat, their mania makes them Murderous to the Last.
A dying Bloodbound warrior can make a Murder Roll, inflicting a Mortal Wound on a 5+ to a unit within 3”. Bloodbound Heroes are so engorged on gore that they get to make three rolls before being put in the dirt.
Thankfully, when blood is shed – by foes or allies – Khorne blesses his warriors with Blood Tithe abilities. Slaughter Triumphant is one of an octet of raging powers, adding 1 to the Attack characteristic of all Blades of Khorne units. The Blood God has given his followers special permission to use this as many times as they want – if enough blood is shed to earn it.
The musclebound followers of Khorne will receive further blessings in Battletome: Blades of Khorne, which you can pre-order on Saturday. Check back tomorrow, when we’ll find out how Slaanesh's delicate and depraved sybarites wage war.
