Many strange and esoteric weapons were unleashed during the Horus Heresy, and among the strangest are conversion beamers – complex energy weapons that affix an unstable and deadly beam onto a target at long range. While these weapons were most commonly fitted to Contemptor Dreadnoughts and Predator tanks, particularly massive versions were used by the Titan Legions.
Conversion beams have a unique quirk: they increase in power over distance, manifesting as an increase in strength when fired using their Long Range profile. The Warhound Titan’s conversion beam dissolutor, for instance, jumps from an impressive Strength 9 to an armour-shredding Strength 11.
Such power comes at a cost; these weapons place inordinate strain on plasma reactors, though many consider this a small price to pay for such overwhelming firepower. A particularly bold Princeps can even push their Warlord Titan’s conversion beam extirpator further, maxing out their reactors to increase Strength by two with the Maximal Fire trait – a shot even stronger than the Warbringer Titan’s notorious belicosa volcano cannon.
The extirpator conversion beam cannon is a huge arm-mounted weapon for Adeptus Titanicus Warlord Titans, while the conversion beam dissolutor is available in a carapace-mounted version for Reiver Titans and an arm-mounted version for Warhound Titans. Each resin weapon includes its own weapon card, so you can get them onto the battlefield right away, and will be available on the Forge World webstore soon. Watch this space!
