Watch The First Broadcast Games of #New40k – Live From the Kansas City Open

The inaugural event of the 2023 US Open series kicks off in Kansas City this week, packing hundreds of fans under one roof for a glorious celebration of the Warhammer community. Most importantly, it’s a great chance to meet your fellow Warhammer enthusiasts for fun and hijinks, and plenty of aspiring warlords will be throwing down for a chance to claim one of the coveted Golden Tickets to the Grand Finale.

Since it’s also the final US Open event to use the current Warhammer 40,000 rules, it seemed like the perfect time for a showcase of the new edition – livestreamed and commentated by our presenters Nick and Paul.

The event will play host to two exhibition games of Matched Play Warhammer 40,000  – the first time you’ll get to see livestreamed gameplay from the new edition.

On Thursday June 1st at 7pm CDT/1am BST, we’ll have Daemons vs Death Guard in a Chaos-on-Chaos throwdown. Then, Friday at the same time a clash between the massed firepower of the Astra Milliatrum, and the precision lethality of the Craftworld Aeldari.*

Each battle is a full Strike Force sized game using the upcoming Indexes for each faction and the brand new missions. Better yet, the datasheets from each army list – 44 in all – plus Stratagems, Enhancements, and rules will be revealed during the games and throughout Friday, with live discussion from our panel of commentators. You’ll need to tune in throughout the stream to catch them all.

We won’t be leaving the US Open itself behind either – each round of the action-packed Warhammer 40,000 team tournament will be streamed from Friday, live from the event floor.
