After the Seraphon temple-ship known as the Eye of Chotec crashed into Ghur, the Gnarlwood became one of the most violent places in the entire realm. This writhing jungle is home to carnivorous plants and feral monsters that prey on the warbands drawn in by the promise of powerful arcane relics.
This savage dominion is of particular interest to the monster hunters of the Mortal Realms, from the supercilious Askurgan Trueblades to the deranged Royal Beastflayers. These warbands have fresh competition on the horizon, as they’re about to be joined by a cadre of particularly pernicious poachers…
The Monsta-Killaz are Kruleboyz who hunt, kill, and capture the most formidable monsters in the Mortal Realms in order to stock the stables of the Beast-breaka tribes with vicious war-beasts. Any pets that don’t survive the brutal taming process become stylish pelts and trophies instead – who says orruks don’t recycle?
A hoary, trophy-laden Beastnob leads each Monsta-killa band, bringing years of experience, a bag of tricks, and a terrible trident. These orruks take pride in trapping their quarry alive – but know better than to take on Ghur’s most ornery alpha predators as fully-grown adults. Instead, they plot to snatch their eggs and grab their young, stealing away with more easily-tamed offspring.
Such plans rely on the Kruleboyz' love of traps and duplicitous tactics, as they kick off a kunnin’ diversion while disposable Klutcha-grots – or tamed Gnarlwood Howlaz – clamber into a nest and fish out eggy treasure. The rambunctious Bawla Boys are particularly well-versed at drawing attention, slamming out uneven beats and hollering a mix of animal cries to distract and deafen monsters.
Neckslicers use these distractions to beset foes with their beaststikka harpoons, bonehakkas, and smashas. These massive weapons are meant for crippling prize monsters – but the ruthless orruks have no compunction about turning them on weaker opponents, with deadly results.
As well as taking part in the shadowed skirmishes of the Gnarlwood, these Orruks will also be usable in Orruk Warclans armies in Warhammer Age of Sigmar.
