You may have heard the maxim that only two things are eternal – death and taxes. Unfortunately for the Space Marines in this week’s episode of Hammer and Bolter, our protagonist cares about neither.
Lucius the Eternal is one of Slaanesh’s finest warriors, famed across the galaxy for the incredible tally of champions he’s left in bloody pieces. Any who do manage to bring him down soon find themselves transformed into the recently dispatched warlord, and this week he’s turned his supernatural swordsmanship on the Exorcists Chapter of Space Marines.
A veteran of the Long War, Lucius is one of greatest swordsmen ever to live – not least because he can’t die. Should he ever be beaten, he simply reincarnates in the body of his opponent, as the Exorcists are about to discover to their cost…
The Exorcists have more Chaos-fighting experience than almost any Chapter, save the legendary Grey Knights, and Lucius will have to use his unique skills and swordsmanship to break into their heavily warded fortress-monastery. After all, a fellow member of the Emperor’s Children has been captured, and few sons of Fulgrim could leave such a slight against the Legion unchecked.
This epic episode features some of the first combat between heretic and loyalist Space Marines in the Hammer and Bolter anthology series – and it’ll be hard to top, from the time-bending powers of a Judiciar to the faultless bladework of one of the favoured champions of Slaanesh.
Alongside this episode of Hammer and Bolter, you can also catch the Warhammer history buffs of Loremasters as they turn their gaze to the future of the Mortal Realms, and the Harbingers who’ll change the fate of the new Dawnbringers narrative saga. It’s an invaluable trove of information about the next big story event for Warhammer Age of Sigmar, so make sure you don’t miss it.
