You know the refrain by now: in the grim darkness of the far future there is only war. This week, that war comes on two very different scales – the taut, cinematic skirmishes of Kill Team, and the broad brawls of Warhammer 40,000.
Space Marine Captain with Relic Shield
The icon of Indomitus gets his long-awaited solo release. Previously only available in the launch box and starter sets for the previous generation of Warhammer 40,000, the Space Marine Captain with the most extra battlegear in the 41st Millennium is here to strike a pose and take names. He has a choice of three heads – helmed, visor up, and bare – and with a master-crafted power sword, a heavy bolt pistol, and his relic shield, he’ll be right at home with an ostentatious retinue of Bladeguard.
Space Marine Lieutenant with Storm ShieldThe good Captain is ably assisted by a Lieutenant, a heroic Space Marine junior officer wielding a storm shield, a neo-volkite pistol, and a master-crafted power weapon. Units he’s attached to earn the Lethal Hits weapon trait, and they can also Charge or Shoot after they Fall Back.
Space Marines Vanguard Task Force
The Vanguard Task Force contains many of the first Primaris Space Marines ever released – including numerous models that you can’t acquire anywhere else.
These 17 single-pose Phobos-armoured marines are high-tech reconnaissance experts, comprising one Lieutenant, three Eliminators, three Suppressors,* and Infiltrators. In all, the Vanguard Task Force is the perfect starting point for a stealthy detachment of Space Marines.
Chaos Space Marines Master of Possession
The long-requested Master of Possession also makes his solo debut this week, as a dynamic single-pose miniature who loves to bolster your units of Legionaries, Chosen, and Possessed. He grants +1 to Advance and Charge rolls, and grants a useful Feel No Pain 6+ to his daemoniac charges, all the while slinging nasty globs of Witchfire.
Kill Team Annual 2023
Worried you’d missed out on the rules for the kill teams and killzones from the Gallowdark season of Kill Team? Worry no more, for the massive Kill Team Annual 2023 contains absolutely everything you need to field all eight kill teams that did battle on this ancient space hulk, as well as rules for the two teams in the recent Ashes of Faith set.
On top of that there are a total of 45 missions – nine Critical Operations and 36 Shadow Operations – plus all the rules you need to play in Close Quarters using the Gallowdark terrain, and an expanded campaign structure with which to play it all.
The 10 kill teams featured are as follows: Imperial Navy Breachers, Kroot Farstalker Kinband Kasrkin, Necron Heirotek Circle, Drukhari Hand of the Archon, Adeptus Arbites Exaction Squad, Leagues of Votann Hearthkyn Salvagers, Fellgor Ravagers, Inquisitorial Agents, and the Chaos Cult.
Fellgor Ravagers
The bellicose beastmen of the Fellgor Ravagers have been tainted through many years of hurtling unprotected through the immaterium. They’re a ferocious proposition in close combat, often succumbing to frenzy instead of dying to wounds that would incapacitate a lesser specimen. This box contains 10 beastmen, which can either be built as a range of specialists for games of Kill Team, or as a (relatively) uniform squad for games of Warhammer 40,000.
Hand of the Archon
The Hand of the Archon are Drukhari Kabalite Warriors carefully selected for loyalty and combat prowess, dispatched on dangerous missions for the pleasure of their ignoble masters. This box contains the standard Kabalite Warrior kit, with an additional upgrade sprue to add heads, weapons, and unique equipment to help you dominate the killzone with a range of vicious specialists.
Inquisitorial Agents
The Inquisition is one of the most feared and most paradoxical organisations in the Imperium, a loose grouping of all-powerful agents and agencies working at the same time with and against one another to fulfil inscrutable schemes under the nominal umbrella of protecting humanity. Inquisitors often rely on henchmen for their dirty work, and this group of ne'er do wells bring a particular set of rare and esoteric skills to the job. This set of seven models can build a wide variety of specialist roles for use in your games of Kill Team, and may accompany their master to war as acolytes in Warhammer 40,000.
Hearthkyn Salvagers
The Leagues of Votann are an industrious race of obdurate, spacefarers, a lone beacon of pragmatism in a terrifying galaxy. They scour space for profit, whether that’s in the form of mineral-rich mining prospects or derelict ships from an earlier age, dispatching Hearthkyn Salvagers to strip anything that’s not nailed down. This group of 10 specialists combines Hearthkyn Warrior miniatures with a packed upgrade sprue bringing wild new specialisms – and the devastating HYLas rotary cannon to games of Warhammer 40,000.
Killzone Upgrade: Gallowfall
This set comprises all the unique terrain found in the last box in the Gallowdark season – Gallowfall. In all, you get 18 pieces, including eight escape pods, two autopsy tables, two surgical chairs, two banks of stasis pods, two medical supply tables and two iron lungs. All the rules for this terrain – and the missions that involve them – are available in the Kill Team Annual. It’s also great for building personalised boards for games of Boarding Actions in Warhammer 40,000, or even for a Rogue Doc’s hideout in Necromunda!
All of these products are available to pre-order today from the Games Workshop webstore.
* More accurately, these guys are Omnis-armoured, which combines elements of Gravis and Phobos armour.
