Warhammer 40,000 App Update – How Battle Forge Works

The Warhammer 40,000 App is a crucial tool for all players – whether they’re playing a casual pick-up game at their local club or they’re at the top tables of the World Championships of Warhammer.

This free-to-download app contains the Core Rules, every Index datasheet and Detachment for every faction, all the Combat Patrol rules, and the rules commentary. There’s also the Battle Forge, a simple yet powerful army building tool, which lets you put together legal lists with ease and share them for printing.

From today, most of the Battle Forge functionality will be included in your Warhammer+ subscription. Subscribers will be able to create as many armies as they like with the full functionality of the app.

Free users, on the other hand, can create one army list at a time – the Create Army button will be disabled once one list has been composed. Note that your existing lists will not be removed if you already have multiple ones made, but you won’t be able to make a new one until the others are deleted.

Codex: Tyranids Ready for Activation

This release also contains all the datasheets, Detachments, points, and Enhancements from Codex: Tyranids. To access these additions, you’ll activate them using the unique code printed in your copy of the Codex.

This material replaces the current Tyranid Index on the app, and your existing lists will remain intact. Without a code, you’ll still be able to access the points values – as laid out in the most up-to-date Munitorum Field Manual – as well as the rules for Imperial Armour datasheets and the Tyranid Combat Patrol.

All the Codex rules – including datasheets and Detachments – will be available with an activated code. This covers every datasheet, whether they’re totally new like the insidious Neurolictor, an existing unit with extra options like the new Termagants, or a creature so perfectly evolved it’s largely unchanged from the Index, like the powerful Hive Tyrant

This will be the format for all future Codex releases.

The new version of the app launches today. You will need to update your Warhammer 40,000 app in order to apply your Warhammer+ subscription.
