We’re only 10 days away from the World Championships of Warhammer and the epic Grand Narrative event in Atlanta, and with them is coming the next exciting Preview Online bursting with reveals for your favourite Warhammer games.
This hour-long extravaganza will first be shown to those attending the event in person, and then everyone at home can tune in from 10pm EST on Friday 17th November – that’s 3am GMT on Saturday 18th November for those in the UK. You may have received an honourable invitation to a bounteous feast already, but rest assured, there’ll be plenty more to gorge on.
It won’t be the only thing hitting the screens at the Warhammer Twitch channel, with coverage of the whole World Championships of Warhammer event beamed right from the tournament floor. There’ll be action from Warhammer 40,000, Warhammer Age of Sigmar, Kill Team, and Warhammer Underworlds going on all around us, and we’ll zoom in on the spiciest moments for some world-class gameplay.
You can catch our expert commentators and live Warhammer action from 10am EST on Thursday the 16th of November and 8am EST on the following Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, as players battle it out in the Pools before moving on to the Championship and World brackets. We’re getting ready for some awesome international throwdowns with more than 40 countries taking part, and there’ll even be commentary in French and Spanish.
It’s not just personal glory our gladiators are battling for, after all – Warhammer is a truly international hobby with fans all around the world, and this World Championships are the perfect time to celebrate this global community. Take the contestants from Thailand, for example, who’re bringing a delegation of friends along to meet and greet with their fellow players. Other entrants are representing their nation solo – including players from Vietnam, Iceland, New Zealand, and Colombia – but this being Warhammer, any general is in with a real shot.
While the pinnacle of competitive Warhammer is raging away, we can’t forget about the Grand Narrative setting out for its second year of immersive campaign action. Last year’s event gathered hundreds of narrative Warhammer 40,000 fans into three warring factions for control of the Szabryne system, and this year our intrepid warbands are back – with almost as many participants as the World Championships of Warhammer – to decide the fate of the embattled Palat system.
This long-quarantined zone, rich in biomass, didn’t escape the notice of Hive Fleet Leviathan for long – and now the Imperium struggles to hold back the Tyranid tide engulfing its worlds. Ahead of the living armada, scores of ships from errant Chaos warbands, xenos warlords, and routed Imperial defenders are driven in a great wave of destruction – some seeking to escape the oncoming horde, while others take advantage of the confusion to pursue their own agendas.
One by one, these unfortunates make their way towards Occultaris – a mysterious world that registers on few sensors and fewer records – seeking safe haven or dark reward. Our players will take the role of those drawn towards this ominous planetoid and, as with last year’s action in the Szabryne system, their actions during the Grand Narrative will shape the future of Warhammer 40,000 lore itself. You’ll have a chance to check in with the Grand Narrative campaign in between the livestreamed World Championships games. Stay tuned to the Warhammer Twitch channel throughout the day to catch these exciting snippets as they happen.
Join us from Thursday 16th November for coverage from the greatest weekend of Warhammer ever envisioned… so far.
