The US Open Series and the Grand Narrative are highlights of the Warhammer season, and it’s time to reveal the slate of events for 2024.
Read on for information on the US Open Series, Grand Narrative, and World Championships of Warhammer, as well as a reminder about Golden Demon 2024.
The US Open Series
Each stop on the US Open Series is a weekend packed full of Warhammer games in a tournament setting, and this year the roadshow will be heading to Dallas TX, Tacoma WA, Tampa FL, before reaching Atlanta GA, which will host the Grand Narrative and the finals of the World Championships of Warhammer, bringing together qualified players from amazing independent events around the world.
Every event will host tournaments for Warhammer 40,000, Warhammer Age of Sigmar, Kill Team, Warhammer Underworlds, and Blood Bowl. There will also be Organised Play on offer for Legions Imperialis, and more at certain events.
Every event includes our travelling events store, featuring a massive range of Warhammer items – including Forge World resin expert kits – as well as event-exclusive swag such as Faction Objective Mats, and this year’s incredible Commemorative Series event miniatures.
Tickets go on sale on Saturday the 10th of February at 6pm GMT / 1pm EDT. Click the links below:
This year’s US Opens include an increased array of activities to participate in beyond just tournaments, such as Warhammer board and video game rooms, paint competitions, evening activities in the gaming halls, and more thematic Hobby Challenges. Also, Kill Team will be fully integrated into the Grand Narrative this year, with a number of tickets available for Kill Team players to fully participate in this epic event (more on the Grand Narrative to come later this week!).
This year also adds a brand new suite of unique event swag in an epic swag box, including everything from challenge coins and pin badges to gaming aids and objective tokens.
Winners of major tournaments at the US Opens will also get to enter the World Championships of Warhammer in Atlanta, Georgia in mid-November. This is the second World Championships, in which the top players from all over the world will compete to crown the best country in the world.
Finally, the newly revealed US Open in Dallas is located just 15 minutes away from the Citadel Cafe in Grapevine, Texas. Both the Cafe and US Open will have special activities and event exclusives on offer connecting the two from the 16th and 19th of May.
The World Championships of Warhammer
Last year’s World Championships attracted incredible players from more than 45 countries, who did battle in four gaming systems amidst a vibe and atmosphere of incredible sportsmanship and international bonding over the attendees’ shared love of all things Warhammer. This year is shaping up to be even bigger, and there are more qualifying events than ever all over the world.
Tournament organisers anywhere in the world still have time to apply for their event to become a qualifier, as they are evaluated on a rolling basis. Click here to apply.
We’ll have more news on the World Championships of Warhammer later in the year including the expanded list of qualifying events!
On top of this year’s competitive and gaming events, there will be two Golden Demon competitions in 2024. Masters of brush and pigment will have their first shot at the Slayer Sword during the first leg at AdeptiCon in the USA in March.
There’s no Warhammer Fest on the calendar, but Golden Demon is still appearing in Europe. The second half of the world’s premier painting competition will be held at SPIEL in Essen, Germany, this year for the first time!
What are you waiting for? Find your smallest paintbrushes, get thinning those glazes, and pick out the perfect miniature to wow the judges!
Warhammer World
Rest assured that there will be plenty of gaming events happening at Warhammer World throughout the year as well.
