After the Isstvan V Dropsite Massacre, survivors from the Salamanders, Raven Guard, and Iron Hands banded together to form the Shattered Legions. Dogged and tenacious, these forces became a thorn in the Warmaster’s side, and so Horus tasked his officers with hunting them down. Chief amongst them was Tybalt Marr, Captain of the Sons of Horus 18th Company.
Known as The Either and the Hunter of the Iron Heart, Marr is a ruthless combatant who engages in brutal shock tactics. The Shattered Legions, who fielded compact formations that allowed them to operate with relative impunity, were suddenly hounded by a single-minded foe.
Recognising the threat that Shadrak Meduson and his ragged band of warriors posed to the Warmaster’s campaign, Marr begrudgingly learned to respect Meduson almost as much as he despised him.
That respect, however, didn’t cause him to stay his hand in battle and he set about his task relentlessly, personally killing many members of the Shattered Legions. His weapon of choice is The Culling Blade, a strange weapon of unusual design that is eerily reminiscent of xenos weapons. Fleshbane and Murderous Strike (6+) make it an effective tool for taking out Astartes.
Tybalt Marr can also perform a devastating Shock Assault once per battle, forcing enemy units within 12” to take a Pinning test. By the Hunter’s Moon also pulls double duty in giving his army the ability to make an additional Reaction during the Assault phase, as long as he is still in command.
The full rules for Tybalt Marr are available in the upcoming Campaigns in the Age of Darkness book, The Battle for Beta-Garmon, which will be available to pre-order soon. Tybalt Marr will be released as an expert kit made from Forge World resin – stick with Warhammer Community for more details on his upcoming release.
