So far in Legions Imperialis, we’ve seen infantry, tanks, big tanks, walkers, titans, skimmers and planes. But this isn’t sufficient for the largest conflict in humanity’s history – we’re going to have to look to the subterranean.
And soon we shall, as the Terrax pattern Termite Assault Drill pokes its shiny metal nose out of a freshly spun borehole…
Yes, if Rhinos, Land Raiders, or Thunderhawk Gunships aren’t doing the job you want getting your footslogging Space Marines from A to B, it’s time to think in the other third dimension: underground.
With Transport (2) and Deep Strike each Termite can deliver an angry payload of Legiones Astartes right where they’re most needed, and with twin-linked bolters and a reasonable +1 CAF (representing the melta-cutters on the front), they add a little extra close support – especially in the forthcoming Subterranean Assault formation.*
The Assault Drills use the same design as the larger-scale resin miniatures available for Warhammer: The Horus Heresy – but crucially they have been remastered in glorious plastic. The Termite Assault Drills will be available soon, with eight of them to a box.
And finally, this will be the last instalment of Heresy Thursday for a few months, while we turn our focus to the Mortal Realms. Our regular Thursday feature will return later in the summer.
There’s still plenty to come from Warhammer: The Horus Heresy and Warhammer: Legions Imperialis, both of which are still fully planned and supported, and more releases are scheduled in the second half of this year. As always, stay tuned to Warhammer Community to hear about them first.
* You may have registered that rules for the Termite aren’t available either in the main rulebook or in The Great Slaughter – hopefully you can put two and two together here!
