You aren’t imagining that persistent scratching sound just on the edge of your hearing – the Skaven gnawing and chewing just beyond the veil, and in a few weeks there’ll be a whole tide of them swarming across the Mortal Realms.
But before then, there’s still time to celebrate the last days of the current edition of Age of Sigmar with Dawnbringers: Book VI – Hounds of Chaos. This book documents the final leg of the Twin-Tailed Crusade's lengthy journey. Both tines of the Crusade have succeeded, with Verdigris raised in Ghyran and Embergaard in Aqshy, but disaster awaits. The forces of chaos array against them, from Archaon’s most trusted lieutenant to the massed tribes of Darkoath.
So whether you want to smash up the trumped-up landgrabbers of Sigmar with the varanite spear of Abraxia, or drive them back with little more than muscles and rough blades, we’ve got you covered with free warscrolls for the miniatures coming alongside Hounds of Chaos.
As the Spear of the Everchosen, Abraxia is living proof that the Path to Glory is rich with rewards for those tenacious enough to walk it. As a Warrior of the First Circle of Varanguard, she may issue the same command twice in the same phase, so long as a Varanguard unit receives each one.
Her baleful spear Gorbolga is a rare weapon forged from pure varanite, a gift from Archaon which pulses with mutative power and hungers to transform all it touches – including its wielder should their resolve falter. This volatile weapon waxes and wanes in power, sometimes gorging on Abraxia’s strength and other times inflicting devastating wounds on her foes.
The mortals of the Darkoath Tribes don’t have the luxury of daemonic weapons or hellish mounts to fall back on in combat, but Gunnar Brand and his Oathbound are nevertheless willing to fit tooth and nail to prevent their homelands from being invaded by the forces of Sigmar.
Gunnar Brand himself has sworn the Oath of Bloodshed, and on taking the head of an enemy hero, he will gladly accept a boon so long as it helps him fulfil his goals. And what better way to ensure victory than a Ward of 4+?
You can download the rules for Abraxia, Spear of the Everhsoen and Brand’s Oathbound below. Rules for Abraxia’s Varanguard-focused Army of Renown, The Swords of Chaos, and the Regiment of Renown for Gunnar and co. are both available in Hounds of Chaos, which is available to pre-order on Saturday alongside Abraxia’s Varanspear.
