Kill Team Balance Dataslate – Download the New Updates Today

The clandestine theatre of Kill Team is an ever-changing landscape, as maligned operatives rise ascendent and dominant champions recede into the pack with each quarterly tweak of the rules. Today is one such day, as a new Balance Dataslate has arrived to rejig the playing field with a score of buffs, nerfs, and little nudges.

A few popular kill teams have been given a light touch downwards, while some stragglers have received a boost to keep them competitive. You can check out all of the new changes by downloading the document below – all new additions are marked with an asterisk (*).

In particular, the Fellgor Ravagers have been running roughshod over the killzone. To keep them moving aggressively like a horde of Chaos-worshipping Beastmen should, the Reckless Determination Strategic Ploy no longer works on operatives in Cover. This means they can’t supercharge their defences in a pinch, and have more reason to hurtle across open ground.

They have also had some tweaks to combat rules, with several operatives changing the extremely reliable Relentless rule for the still-good-but-slightly-less Ceaseless, while others are now a fraction more fragile. These tweaks my seem fairly minor, but should serve to keep them in line with the rest of the pack.

The previous Balance Dataslate brought the Necrons of the Hierotek Circle a few significant changes to improve their prospects, and results have been promising. They’ve had a slight adjustment to their Reanimation Protocols ability in light of their recent performance, but otherwise appear to be taking to the killzone with renewed vigour.

The Space Marine Scout Squad gets its first updates since the release of Kill Team: Salvation, with the relatively major boost of an extra operative likely to prompt a swift change in their fortunes. Their Hunter and Warrior operatives also get a small boost to their close combat damage, which should help them against the marauding Fellgors in particular.

Several other kill teams have received slight tweaks here and there. Chaos Legionaries are now able to include operatives with any Mark of Chaos on their roster, though they still abide by historical hatreds when forming a specific kill team. The hulking Traitor Ogryns of the Blooded don’t get protection from Light Cover and smaller allies. Exaction Squad Gunners can use the Terminal Decree Strategic Ploy to re-roll an attack dice regardless of distance. There are a wealth of other careful changes.

Download the Balance Dataslate now to see how it affects your kill teams, and keep sending us your feedback – every bit helps to make Kill Team the most balanced and exciting skirmish experience ever.
