After the barnstorming pre-order for Kill Team: Hivestorm opened yesterday you’d be forgiven for thinking that we would be taking a breath, but not so – there’s a bumper stack of pre-orders coming next week, with releases for Warhammer: The Old World, Blood Bowl, Necromunda, and Warhammer 40,000.
Chaos Knights, Chariots, and More
A second wave of warriors from the Chaos Wastes are descending on the Old World, headed by thundering Chaos Knights and Chaos Chariots.
These heavily armoured juggernauts are swiftly followed by waves of light Marauder Horsemen and packs of vicious Chaos Hounds, while ranks of howling Marauders charge towards enemy lines chanting praise to their Dark Gods. The Knights, Chariots, and both sets of Marauders each come with a new sheet of 621 Chaos transfers, to get your reavers looking their best under the watchful gaze of the gods.
Lady Haera in Sthenian-pattern Hunting Rig
Chased from the spires of Hive Primus by Lady Credo and her rebellion, Lady Haera Helmawr was reunited with her brother Tamino at the gates of Hive Secundus and set off into the Underhells in search of an ancient and powerful spyrer suit. Now equipped with the mighty Sthenian-pattern Hunting Rig, she stalks the halls of the Secundan Abyss slaying Malstrain genestealers and wayward gangs alike with her twinned power spear and phase sword.
Hermiatus, The Second Son
The original Tech-Priest Biologis Hermiatus was the reckless tinkerer responsible for unleashing the first Genestealer into the depths of Hive Secundus, and though he was quickly purged once his crimes came to light, a strange echo of his identity now persists in the gestalt psychic consciousness of the Malstrain. This horrifying facsimile of Herminatus haunts the Underhells at the behest of the Malstrain Patriarch, meddling with the Genestealer DNA in an attempt to spread the contagion far beyond the bounds of the Abyss.
Malstrain Coalescence
As one of the most horrifying creatures encountered in the ruins of Hive Secundus, the Malstrain Coalescence is often the last thing poor gangers see before they’re torn asunder by its fearsome psychic might. This psychic champion for Malstrain gangs is every bit as lethal as it is disgusting – floating above the rubble while twisting reality with its own unique Wyrd powers.
Malstrain Alpha
Let’s give him a hand, it’s the Malstrain Alpha! As its name suggests, the Alpha is at the apex of the Malstrain hierarchy – with the natural exception of the Patriarch – and even its existence is the subject of scant rumours from traumatised survivors tearing from the Secundan Abyss. Tales tell of a quicksilver beast with monstrous strength and razor sharp claws, and its mien is so downright horrifying that all but the strongest of minds shatter simply from looking into its dark, alien eyes.
The Zharr-Naggrund Ziggurats
With the collapse of the NAF, the authority that banned them from the Blood Bowl leagues, the Chaos Dwarfs have returned with a vengeance to bulldoze the gridiron in a storm of fire, fury, and irrepressible hatred. As a dark and dangerous counterpart to regular Dwarf teams, Chaos Dwarfs embrace the violence and cunning of their murderous patron Hashut and can regularly be found breathing fire, stabbing backs, and causing all kinds of mayhem at the line of scrimmage.
This set of plastic miniatures contains six Hobgoblin Linemen, four Chaos Dwarf Blockers, two Hobgoblin Sneaky Stabbas, and two Chaos Dwarf Flamesmiths along with two double-sided Blood Bowl coins, two turn and re-roll markers, four balls, and a Chaos Dwarfs team transfer sheet.
Chaos Dwarf Bull Centaurs
Some particularly blessed/cursed Chaos Dwarfs are mutated into a form more befitting the Father of Darkness’ whims, forging their sturdy upper halves to the legs of a rampaging bull. Teams from across the Dark Lands embraced these towering brutes with open arms and now enlist as many as they can for their unmatchable blitzing prowess.
This pack contains two resin Bull Centaurs.
H’thark the Unstoppable and Zzharg Madeye
With a well-entrenched history of pitch brutality and wild-eyed madness it should come as no surprise that Chaos Dwarfs field some of the most popular Star Players in the modern history of Blood Bowl. H’thark the Unstoppable is a singularly destructive Bull Centaur responsible for millions of gold pieces in pitchside property damage, while Zzharg Madeye hefts a blunderbuss that we’re assured is 100% only for launching the ball, he promises.
Each of these Star Players will be sold separately and cast in highly detailed Forge World resin.
Chaos Dwarfs Dice Set, Team Card Pack, and Pitch
Complete your Chaos Dwarfs collection with the usual sets of dice, team cards, and a double-sided pitch with separate dugouts. The dice set contains seven bronze-coloured dice with red pips – two regular six-sided dice, three Block dice, an eight-sided scatter die, and a 16-sided dice.
Spike! Journal – Issue 18
All of the rules for playing a Chaos Dwarfs team and their Star Players can be found in Issue 18 of Spike! Journal, alongside all of your favourite Blood Bowl content from background lore and histories of famous teams to insightful columns and rules for the new Wastelands league.
The Twistweald
Unleash the corrupted arboreal beauty of the Twistweald on Warcry with this new standalone release of the warband first featured in Briar and Bone. This band of pariahs intentionally seclude themselves in dangerous woodlands that their untainted brethren could never enter, venting their frustrations on trespassers with eruptions of thorny vines, piercing branches, and warms of spites.
This pack contains eight multi-part plastic fighters and 16 cards used to field them in games of Warcry.
Teratic Cohort
The Teratic Court fight at the vanguard of an Ossiarch Bonereapers legion, scouring the Gnarlwood in hopes of finding and securing Talaxis for their undead masters. Each bears the form of a hideous beast built for tracking prey, whether on land or in the air.
This pack contains eight multi-part plastic fighters and 14 cards used to field them in games of Warcry.
Ravening Gnarloak
Trees are great, but trees that eat people are even better, and your games of Warcry can finally be graced with the hungriest trunk of them all as the Ravening Gnarloak arrives in its first standalone release. This characterful terrain piece is as deadly as it looks, and all it takes is a swift kick to plunge your enemies from the rickety walkways into the Gnarloak’s fanged maw…
Above and Beyond
The legend of Imperial fighter ace Lucille Von Shard continues in Above and Beyond by Denny Flowers, as the long-suffering scribe Kile Simlex travels to the world of Deighton only to find the subject of his previous propagandising a shadow of her former self. Haunted by a life of endless war and with a seemingly invincible xenos mercenary dominating the skies, Lucille summons Kile for a last-ditch attempt to regain her fighting spirit, lest her legend end in the fires of a world lost to rebellion.
Above and Beyond will be available to pre-order in hardback, ebook, and MP3 audiobook editions.
The End and The Death Volume III
This is it – the final chapter in the epic Siege of Terra series finds the Emperor and Warmaster Horus meeting their fates in The End and The Death Volume III by Dan Abnett. This culmination of nearly two decades of incredible Horus Heresy fiction is an incredible closing chapter that finally details the events surrounding the most important duel in the history of Warhammer, and it’s finally hitting shelves in its long-awaited paperback edition.
Carcharodons: Outer Dark
Renowned as merciless killers who ply the void at the edge of Imperial space, the Carcharodons Chapter of Space Marines are every bit as ruthless and brutal as their reputation suggests. But with a fresh wave of Tyranid hive fleets approaching the galactic plane, the Carcharodons decide to use the world of Piety V as a bulwark, and the need to mobilise the planet’s human defenders forces them to confront the value of individual mortal lives in Outer Dark – the second of Robbie MacNiven’s classic Carcharodons novels.
This popular novel is coming soon in a new audiobook format.
Lazarus: Enmity’s Edge (French Edition)
The Knight World of Reis is suffering as the warp eats away at real space, and in their hour of need, they demand that the Dark Angels fulfil an ancient oath to protect them. Supreme Grand Master Azrael despatches Lazarus and the 5th Company to intervene, but what greets these honoured warriors is a planet consumed by political strife and pointless conflict in Lazarus: Enmity’s Edge by Gary Kloster.
Lazarus: Enmity’s Edge is up for pre-order next week in a new French-language paperback and eBook edition.
Warhammer TV heads back to the Mortal Realms this week with a three-pronged release of shows centred around Warhammer Age of Sigmar. Citadel Colour Masterclass is on hand to teach you the tricks of Dwarfen beard-care, Loremasters opens the vault on the chilling Ruination Chamber of the Stormcast Eternals, and the Battle Report guys get stuck into a new game of Spearhead featuring the two sides from the Skaventide boxed set.
Here at Warhammer Community, there’s a big change coming this week that we can’t wait to unveil, as well as more from the Chaos Dwarf Blood Bowl Team and the return of – gasp! – Heresy Thursday.
