We announced back in February that the Warhammer Community team would be embarking upon the Armies on Parade journey by crafting a five-part team entry surrounding a Daemon Prince’s Path to Glory. If the WarCom Workbench has taught us anything, it’s that regular public updates are a powerful motivator for hobby progress, so it’s time we showed off what we’ve been getting up to in the past few months.
With each person taking on a particular god themselves, a wide variety of units were chosen to represent their particular allegiance, and we’ve been converting many of them to give them the appearance of warriors nearing the end of a Path to Glory – one where the warlord has made his triumphant ascension to daemonhood.

As with all good team projects, this has involved a lot of digging through boxes and swapping bits with each other to get the perfect blade here or spiky accessory there. One of the great things about sectioning out our project in this way is that each ‘god segment’ has its own identity and we can work relatively independently without worrying about too much visual dissonance – perfect for a team spread across multiple time zones!

Painting has also been proceeding apace, with some of the standout models starting early to make sure they really shine. How they’ll all be laid out and based consistently is a problem for future WarCom though, and we’ll need a good bit more progress on the individual models (and especially the Daemon Prince) before we can start to tackle the wider scene.
Even now, some extensive use of the Citadel Colour app and all of the hobby content on Warhammer+ is giving our hobbyists a leg up, especially when it comes to getting some of the less co-operative conversions to stay together and not wobble about.* If you’re tackling your own Armies on Parade entry this year, we heartily recommend giving them a look – especially if it’s your first time!

Be sure to share your own progress on social media with the #ArmiesOnParade hashtag so we can see how you’re getting on.** Don’t forget that there’s also a wealth of guides on the Warhammer Youtube channel to speed you along, including a very handy playlist of tips and tricks curated by our own top hobbyists.
* You may have noticed that the Centaurion Marshal is now missing an axe. It’s… somewhere.
** And probably panic that you’re way further than we are.
