This week we journey into the depths of Hive Secundus with a new core box for Necromunda, and visit the mountain holds of the Old World as the Dwarfs get their eagerly-awaited release.
Necromunda: Hive Secundus
Prepare to explore the deadly ruins of a shattered hive in search of unimaginable riches in Necromunda: Hive Secundus. This new box is a great buy for existing players who want to dip into a new environment, and it’s the perfect place to get started in Necromunda via a self-contained two-player Underhells campaign.
The box contains eight Van Saar Tek-hunters making the deadly descent into the Secundan Abyss in search of lost knowledge, and two Orrus Spyre Hunters and a Caryatid Prime who have joined them to hunt the twisted Genestealers of the Malstrain Brood. There are six Masltrain Genestealers, four Malstrain Tyramites, and eight Brood Scum.
There’s also a Necromunda Bulkhead Terrain set containing five barricades, two doors, and two double-sided paper playing mats to recreate the warped depths of the Underhells. The 176-page softback Necromunda: Hive Secundus Rulebook contains background on this new setting, complete rules for playing Necromunda (excluding vehicle rules), and the Underhells Campaign itself.
The box also contains a deck of Hive Secundus cards featuring Archeo-loot cards, Underhells Territory cards, Malstrain Forces fighter cards, and blank fighter cards, as well as a token board, a ruler, two blast markers and a flamer template, two rules reference sheets, and 16 Necromunda dice.*
Hive Data Stack Cluster
Buried in the depths of Hive Secundus are the Data Crystals, vastly precious repositories of lost knowledge. The Hive Data Stack Cluster is a ruined storage space where such items might be found. You get two in a box, with additional storage alcoves and removable data stacks.*
Ruined Zone Mortalis
Transform your terrain board from the (relatively) pristine Hive Primus into the twisted guts of Hive Secundus with the Ruined Zone Mortalis set. You get 24 pieces of terrain including damaged and ruined columns, walls, and doors, all of which can be used on their own or combined with existing Zone Mortalis terrain kits, alongside extra scrap and detritus to add more interest to your boards.*
Proxy and Fixer
Keep your gang’s relationships with the Guilders and Outlaws healthy, and employ drastic measures to mend them when they break down with the Proxy and Fixer. This pair of Forge World resin miniatures come in a single pack, and both characters are well-dressed for their respective roles.*
Carta Galactica: The Secundan Exclusion Zone
Decorate your hobby room or gang hideout with this detailed Carta Galactica: The Secundan Exclusion Zone poster. Measuring 1,000mm x 890mm, this map centred on the portion of the Ash Wastes surrounding the ruined husk of Hive Secundus, and contains a number of points of interest that add flavour to the rich world of Necromunda.*
Arcane Journal: Dwarfen Mountain Holds
This is a 48-page softback supplement which features rules for new Runes and Runic Tattoos, profiles for three named characters and numerous special units, plus two Armies of infamy: the Royal Clan and the Expeditionary Force. On top of that, Arcane Journal: Dwarfen Mountain Holds adds background to the Dwarfs of the Old World, and a scenario you can try out on the tabletop. This will also be available as an epub.
Dwarfen Mountain Holds Battalion
Pick up a doughty and dependable army core with the Dwarfen Mountain Holds Battalion box, which is packed with more beards than you can shake an axe at. You get 32 hardy Dwarf Warriors and 32 crossbow-wielding Quarrellers (which can be built as handgun-armed Thunderers). Two Gryrocopters provide swift air support, and can be built as Gyrobombers or Scout Gyrocopters.
Dwarfen Mountain Holds Accessories
Keep your Runes in a row and spend more time noting infractions for future grudges with the Dwarfen Mountain Holds Reference Card Pack, a set of 56 cards which feature rules references for Weapon Runes, Armour Runes, Talismanic Runes, Standard Runes, Engineering Runes, and the Anvil of Doom.
Add to your collection of fine Dwarfen paraphernalia with the Dwarfen Mountain Holds Dice Set, which contains a set of 20 dice coloured in weathered stone grey, with gold ink pips and icons. There are 18 dice with the Dwarfen Mountain Holds Icon on the six face, plus an artillery dice and scatter dice for your ranged ordnance.
Adorn the shields, banners, and weapons of your Dwarf armies with symbols and runes with the Dwarfen Mountain Holds Transfer Sheet. This packed sheet contains 962 transfers, including a range of icons and runes, plus the full Klinkarhun, otherwise known as the core alphabetic runes – providing you plenty of opportunities to taunt your tabletop opponents.
Ungrim Ironfist, the Slayer King of Karak Kadrin
The Slayer King of Karak Kadrin is here to lead Dwarf armies in the Old World, although he’s looking a little younger and more spry than you might be used to. With the Axe of Dargo in hand and the Slayer Crown firmly on his head, Ungrim Ironfist is ready to hew his way through Orc & Goblin hordes. This miniature is made from Forge World resin.
Dwarf Lords with Shieldbearers
Command your army in style with the Dwarf Lords with Shieldbearers plastic kit, which contains a Thane on foot and a King carried on a heavy shield by three dedicated Dwarfen bodyguards. Interchangeable head options and weapon options mean you can build either the Lord or Thane with a hand weapon and shield or a two-handed great weapon.
Dwarf Thane with Handgun on Oathstone
While many Warhammer heroes pose atop masonry and outcroppings of varying sizes, the Dwarf Thane with Handgun on Oathstone is perched on no mere tactical rock – the oathstone is a carefully dressed stone inscribed with powerful runes and oaths of vengeance which increases the resolve of their fellows, and it’s a crafty place from which to take potshots. This miniature is made from Forge World resin.
Classic Dwarf Characters
Numerous classic Dwarf characters return to the shelves, including heroes to accompany your Lord into battle. You can pick up the Dwarf Command set of three miniatures Forge World Resin, a multipart plastic Dwarf Runesmith, a pack of four Slayers Command, and a pack of Engineers, each containing four metal miniatures.
Classic Dwarf Troops
Gather the throng with rows of durable warriors returning for the Old World. Dwarf Warriors form your frontline and come in packs of 36, made of plastic. Dwarf Hammerers come in packs of 20 plastic miniatures, and can be built instead as Longbeards or Royal Clan Warriors.
For ranged options you can choose 36 plastic Quarrelers who can also be built as Thunderers, and 20 plastic Ironbreakers who can be built as drakegun-toting Irondrakes. All of these boxes can be split into two units, with enough command options for both, and each comes with a Dwarf Mountain Holds Transfer sheet containing 342 transfers. Finally, a set of 12 metal Slayers provide you with an answer to all the monsters you’re going to meet.
Classic Dwarf Mercenaries
Many Dwarfs have chosen to live in the towns and villages of the Empire, and will often march into battle wielding spears traded with their taller allies. There’s a set of five Imperial Dwarfs in metal, and a set of four metal Imperial Dwarf Command, which can be fielded by Dwarf armies and Empire armies as Dogs of War.
You can also get a set of four fanatical Slayers known as Doomseekers who throw themselves into battle wielding lethal chained axe blades.
Classic Dwarf War Engines
Dwarfen ingenuity has led to powerful war machines in the World of Legend. There is the volatile Flame Cannon, which may explode if the crew are unlucky, the long-serving Grudge Thrower which hurls rocks great distances, the ever-popular Bolt Thrower, and the curious but alarmingly efficient Goblin Hewer. All are made from metal.
The Anvil of Doom and Bugman’s Cart
This release is capped by two of the most iconic Dwarfen units. The Anvil of Doom is an ancient and valuable heirloom that a Runelord may use to unleash freshly forged runes. For armies that need a little bit more speed in their stride, Bugman’s Cart can provide your Dwarfs with a lovely tipple that gets the blood flowing in battle.
Adepta Sororitas Datasheet Cards
You won’t need a miracle to help you remember all of your rules with the Adepta Sororitas Datasheet Cards pack. It contains a card for your army rules, 30 main datasheets, and four Combat Patrol datasheets so you’re fully equipped for every scale of battle.
Dead Men Walking (Special Edition)
When Necrons awaken on an Imperial mining world, the threat of their inexorable legions is answered by the arrival of the equally implacable Death Korps of Krieg. Steve Lyons’ classic Death Korps of Krieg novel Dead Men Walking returns in a Special Edition, which features a canvas cover with screen-printed art, black printed page edges, and a brown ribbon bookmark. Signed by the author, uniquely numbered, and containing the short story Left for Dead and a foreword, copies will be limited so don’t hesitate to pre-order yours.
