The Seraphon have descended from the heavens to ensure the sanctity of the Astromatrix as per the ancient dictats of the Old Ones – in other words, the new Seraphon Army Set is available to buy in-store tomorrow.
The great cosmic equation which governs all existence demands that big new releases like the Seraphon Army Set make their way into the hands of painters in the community, who will then provide us with the balancing expression of the eternal sum – lovely painted miniatures to look at.
We got lots of excellent responses – but to keep the balance of all things correct, we could only feature so many. Thank you to everyone who took part!
Joshua Hill
We start with two top frogs who have painted a little bit of everything from the army set for us. Joshua has gone for a box art fresh colour scheme – very pleasing on the eye, as you’d expect from a palette planned out epochs ago by the Old Ones.
Rob Hebblethwaite
Rob from Fauxhammer has also conquered a tiny mountain of sprues to shower us with his spectacular Seraphon. Luminous yellow pairs perfectly with cosmic purple in order to convey the Starborne side of the Seraphon – and create a very venomous-looking Slann Starmaster.
Darcy Bono
With diverse Starborne and Coalesced origins and the vast tapestry of nature to take influence from, Seraphon are an ideal army to practise varied colour schemes. Darcy has given us three different Saurus Warriors – we can easily imagine all three working across complete armies.
Tyler Mengel
Tyler has pushed the new Saurus Warrior miniatures to their limits, with lots of crisp shading and highlighting to bring out all the new details lavished on these reptilian bruisers. They look right at home on their lush forest bases.
Andrew Farrell
Next up is Andrew’s Slann Starmaster. Natural tones ground this cosmic frog a little, making the fine gold details like the crown, jewellery, and throne decoration stand out all the more.
Rachel Redmond
Rachel has painted some chilly-looking coldbloods with a snowy basing scheme. Extending the cooler palette to the gold and the totem unifies the look across the unit, and has us hoping for a nice nearby rock to bask on.
Emma Svensson and Spencer Stone
More proof that Seraphon can really be painted any colour and still look fantastic. Emma has used her trademark luminous colours to create a searingly bright Raptadon Charger, while Spencer has opted for a more earthy palette on his Charger with some soft pastel details. Both schemes work, despite being on opposite ends of the spectrum.
Marko Miladinović
Marko from Craftworld Studio brings his unique eye for colour to his warrior. He’s worked subtle tones into the metals and scales, which all come together to make this fabulous celestial warrior look truly out of this world.
Raf Cordero
Orange and turquoise tones always go together exceptionally well, and Raf from Goonhammer has paired warm orange scales with teal details and cold silver metallics for maximum impact on this savage Saurus.
Thor Intararangson
Thor has gone all out with some immaculate paintwork, rendering the textures and details that of the softer underbelly and tough, sharp-edged scales so they contrast not only in colour but also in feel.
The Seraphon Army Set is available in stores tomorrow. If you pre-ordered a box, or are picking one up from your local Games Workshop store, share your own painting results with us on the official Warhammer Twitter.
