Kill Team is all about cinematic close-quarters skirmishes, but that doesn’t mean it’s all competitive, all the time – the new Joint Ops mission pack lets you tackle a horde of automated enemies with a friend at your side. So what do you do if you have three keen commanders all itching to take the fight to Chaos with a squad of Space Marine Scouts? Make them work together, of course!
That said, having three of Battle Report’s finest on the same team seems like it’s stacking the deck against the Non-Player Operatives (or NPOs), so to make sure the vile forces of Chaos have a chance we’re putting them under the command of Leila of the Kill Team design team.
Having an (ostensibly) impartial observer enact NPO behaviour is a great way to add excitement and unpredictability to a Joint Op, even when a player tackles the missions solo!
They are using the third scenario from the Joint Ops mission pack – Escape – as Scout Squad Decimus of the Ultramarines, they must exfiltrate from a Chaos stronghold after confirming the presence of corruption at the behest of Inquisitor Ostromandeus. Will the streamlined automation rules for NPOs thrive under Leila’s careful custodianship, or is the power of teamwork too much to overcome?
While the Imperium and Chaos knock seven bells out of each other, the T’au Empire continues its implacable advance across the galaxy as Loremasters concludes its five-part series on the Empire’s great expansion waves.
Not only does today’s episode examine the Fifth Sphere Expansion – where Commander Shadowsun plunged into the now-stabilised Startide Nexus and began her assault on the Chalnath Expanse – but also the future prospects for the T’au Empire in the wake of the Great Rift. As one of the few civilisations with a stable(ish) tunnel between the two halves of the galaxy, can the T’au capitalise on their advantage and grow the Empire’s borders faster than ever?
