The Angels of Death animated series was an instant fan-favourite when it dropped on Warhammer+ last year. Now, a prequel series is coming, entitled Angels of Death – Origins. The first episode of Origins is called Kill Command, and focuses on Livia, the human captain of the Sword of Baal. Take a look at the first trailer.
Angels of Death – Origins has the same iconic black-and-white animation style as the first season of Angels of Death. It also boasts longer episodes, with each prequel clocking in at around the 25-minute mark. Longer episodes are something that many viewers have been asking for, and this new format gives the creative teams behind the series a chance to show what they can do. Expect a deeper exploration of the bonds that bind these characters together, some surprising twists, and – of course – plenty of action! Suffice it to say, our animation team are excited to be able to share the results with you, the fans!
Kill Command is the first in a series that will explore the backstories of some of the most popular characters from Angels of Death, so keep your eyes peeled to learn what your favourites were up to before the events in the first season. You might meanwhile be wondering what they’ve got up to since the conflict on Niades… Your questions will be answered in Season 2, which we’re hearing rumblings is also in the works.
