December marked 20 years since the release of The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers™ and to celebrate this milestone, we are bringing you another Middle-earth Made to Order featuring a series of classic miniatures from that very film. There are Riders, Rangers, and a selection of miniatures from the epic siege of Helm’s Deep.
Théoden™, King of Rohan™
This metal version of Théoden depicts the King of Rohan unarmoured and in his travelling cloak – just as he appears while leading the Rohirrim to Helm’s Deep, when his people are attacked by Warg Riders on the road.
Heroes of Helm’s Deep™
When Helm’s Deep was besieged by the legions of Saruman’s Uruk-hai, the Rohirrim had to rely on some of the greatest heroes of the Third Age to lead them into battle and deliver an unlikely victory against the forces of darkness.
This classic set contains eight of the heroes who led the defence of Helm’s Deep against the onslaught of Isengard – Théoden, Gamling, Éowyn, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Haldir, and a Galadhrim banner bearer, all in metal.
Gamling™, Captain of Rohan
Gamling is an unshakably loyal captain to Théoden, and will follow his liege into any battle without question. He stood by Théoden’s side at Edoras, during the siege of Helm’s Deep, and in the Battle of Pelennor Fields to the very end. This model is metal.
Uruk-hai™ Battering Ram
To smash through the thick gates of Helm’s Deep, the Uruk-hai deployed huge battering rams. Met with the great strength of Saruman’s warriors, the defences of Helm’s Deep couldn’t hold out forever… This model is made of metal.
Gimli™ on Dead Uruk-hai
One of the most memorable scenes in The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers™ is the sight of Gimli sitting atop a dead Uruk-hai, his axe lodged in his foe’s nervous system, busily bickering with Legolas about who had killed more foes! This classic metal miniature depicts the stoic Dwarf in that very scene.
Warg™ Riders
Upon learning that Théoden would try to move the people of Edoras to the sanctuary of Helm’s Deep, Saruman instructed his Warg Riders to hunt them down as they travelled. The combination of Orc cunning and Warg ferocity made these warriors a deadly threat to the Rohirrim. This set contains three metal Warg Riders: two with a bow and one with a throwing spear.
Gandalf™ the White
Though his companions thought him lost in the Mines of Moria, Gandalf was sent back to Middle-earth – this time even more powerful than before, as the White Wizard. At dawn of the fifth day of the siege of Helm’s Deep, Gandalf led Éomer and his riders as they broke the forces of Isengard and secured a decisive victory. This set contains Gandalf on foot and Gandalf mounted, both in metal.
Frodo Baggins™, Samwise Gamgee™ and Gollum™ in Ithilien™
Having left their companions at Amon Hen, Frodo and Sam began his journey to Mount Doom; though they soon realised that they did not know the way. The Hobbits’ encounter with Gollum proved fortuitous, as he was able to act as their guide – though whether or not he could be trusted remained to be seen… All three models come in metal.
Ringwraith™ on Fell Beast
When Faramir discovered that Frodo had the Ring, he instructed his Men to take the Hobbits to Minas Tirith. However, while they rested at Osgiliath, the terrifying screech of the Nazgûl could be heard overhead, signalling the arrival of one of Sauron’s most deadly servants atop a terrifying Fell Beast. This set comes with two metal models: a mounted Ringwraith and Frodo Baggins. The Fell Beast’s wings are plastic.
Rangers of Ithilien
The Rangers under Faramir’s command in Ithilien are masters of the wilderness, able to easily traverse the thick undergrowth of the overgrown region. They also possess a keen eye and are well practised in the use of bow and arrow. This set comes with four metal models.
