Issue 510 of White Dwarf is up for pre-order on Saturday, and the new edition and boxed set for the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game™ is the focus.

There are over 30 pages of Middle-earth coverage to enjoy. The rules designers behind The War of the Rohirrim™ – Battle of Edoras™ discuss the changes and play out a battle report. There’s also a close look at the new miniatures released alongside the new edition, complemented by a discussion by the miniatures designers.

We also investigate the enigmatic Aeldari, with key figures from the creation of the range over the years weighing in to talk spirit stones and shuriken weapons. This first instalment of two tracks the evolution of the Aeldari from their very first appearances during Rogue Trader era of Warhammer 40,000.

This is swiftly followed by the Twilight Cavalcade, a new Harlequins Combat patrol which is every bit as fast and tricksy as you’d imagine with its Battle Focus ability. A new way of playing Warhammer 40,000 is introduced with the first Aspects of War ruleset – Exigency Stratagems are an escalating series of abilities that add high-stakes tactical twists at critical junctures.

Waaagh! comes to the Mortal Realms with new lore on an up-and-coming Ironjawz Orruk Overboss Dakkbad Grotkicker. In the first of three parts, Flashpoint Grashnak provides Legends rules of Overboss Dakkbad and his Ironsuns Army of Renown. Elsewhere, there are tutorials on how to paint Orruk skin, and tips on how to master the intricacies of movement in Warhammer Age of Sigmar.

On top of that there’s part two of the Bunker’s Car Show, in which the winners of this conversion and painting challenge are revealed. It’s rounded out by the final part of William Crowe’s Tatters of Hope serial, and a skirmish mode for Warhammer Underworlds.
