It is time once again to head into the inner sanctum and beseech the curators of the Black Library to reprint two of its most beloved treasures.

Their great printing presses work tirelessly to provide readers with fantastic new fiction, but each year they turn on the poll-a-matic and give you readers the chance to bring back a glorious title from yesteryear. . 

It is therefore up to you, the community at large, to decide which books you would like to see return from Warhammer 40,000 and the World-that-Was.

The Night Lords prepare to invade an Imperial Hive world while one of their own is questioned by a young interrogator trying to prove her worth in Simon Spurrier’s Lord of the Night.

James Swallow weaves a tale that’s part detective story and part action thriller as the disgraced Adepta Sororitas Seraphim Miriya attempts to hunt down an escaped heretic psyker in Faith and Fire.

Sergeant Wulfe leads his armoured company on a dangerous mission to recover the legendary battle tank of Commissar Yarrick, the Fortress of Arrogance, in Gunheads by Steve Parker.

Ciaphas Cain author Sandy Mitchell changes focus in Scourge the Heretic, a dark tale that pits an Ordo Hereticus warband against the sinister force hiding behind an inter-planetary trafficking operation.

Finally, newly-assigned Arbites officer Shira Calpurnia is set to investigate a series of assassinations on the bustling Imperial dockyards of Hydraphur in Crossfire by Matthew Farer. 

Reader’s Choice: The World-that-Was

After getting their first taste of battle in the Chaos-infested wastes, two Empire soldiers are soon turned to bitter rivals and set on a collision course in Dan Abnett’s Riders of the Dead.

Heldenhammer by Graham McNeill tells the story of how Sigmar first rose to prominence in the Old World, culminating in the fearsome Battle of Black Fire pass where a union of men and dwarfs battled against vast hordes of Orcs.

Thousands of years before the Empire rises to power, the dwarfs and elves were stalwart allies, but a singular incident sets Snorri Halfhand and King Caledor on the warpath in The Great Betrayal by Nick Kyme.

The twins Tyrion and Teclis are two of the greatest elven heroes – the former an unparalleled swordsman and the latter the greatest sorcerer of the age. In Blood of Aenarion by William King, the Witch King Malekith discovers their existence, putting their lives directly under threat.

Gav Thorpe tackles the third part of the End Times in The Curse of Khaine, as Malekith attempts to abandon Naggaroth as the fruits of a long-seeded plan come to fruition in one last attempt to reclaim his ancestral home of Ulthuan.
