Spearhead Debuts on Warhammer+ with a Special Episode of Battle Report

The launch box for Warhammer Age of Sigmar is available for pre-order on Saturday, and it’s packed with a whole boatload of new Stormcast Eternals and Skaven miniatures – 74 to be precise! Hiding within that mountain of miniatures are two small, bespoke forces that you can use to play the new lightning-fast and tactically rich game format called Spearhead.

This exciting new game mode is making its debut on Battle Report this week as presenter Nick tests his mettle against Sam from the Warhammer Studio – and one of the key figures behind the game. Sam is commanding the notoriously quarrelsome Gloomspite Gitz, while Nick is taking control of the tortured gheists of the Nighthaunt in this tense battle.

Not only do you get to watch a great game of Spearhead being played, but Nick also takes the opportunity to grill Sam about some of the decisions behind the new game style, so you can get some firsthand insight on the thought process behind some of the most impactful choices. It’s an unmissable exclusive.

On top of that, there is a Citadel Colour Masterclass episode all about painting Skaven fur and their wonderfully whip-like tails. As covered in our interview with the ’Eavy Metal team, there are all sorts of ways to paint your Skaven miniatures, and blending from the sculpted fur to the skin gives them a believable look which presenter Ed can teach you how to achieve.

This video also contains tips on how to paint something that’s present on all Skaven big and small – their delightfully detailed tails. With both pieces of advice under your belt, you’ll be able to paint the vast number of Skaven inside the launch box to a standard that will look absolutely amazing on the battlefield. #

You can watch all of this and plenty more right now as part of a Warhammer+ subscription. Subscribe and you’ll also get access to the Warhammer Vault, a digital collection of White Dwarfs and lore from previous publications. If you subscribe for a year, you will also get the choice of one of two awesome free miniatures.
