It’s your monthly events article, giving you a look ahead at the official Warhammer events calendar. We’ve got events for August and September at Warhammer World and a refresher of the upcoming US Open and World Championships of Warhammer.
In July, it’s the Warhammer Open in Tacoma, Washington. This event will feature a selection of matched play tournaments that qualify their winners for a place at the World Championship of Warhammer.
In addition to these high-stakes tabletop tussles, the US Open event series features a host of hobby activities for you to get your paint brushes stuck into. These range from weekend-long hobby challenges to multiple masterclasses covering a variety of painting topics.
The US Open Series culminates in a massive double-header event in Atlanta, GA, with both the Grand Narrative and the qualifier-only World Championships of Warhammer.
At the Grand Narrative you can influence the fiction of the setting in an incredible three-day narrative blockbuster. It’s a truly unique, in-character event filled with fun scenarios and laid-back gaming with your fellow Warhammer fanatics.
Warhammer World Events
The headline event is the first Warhammer World Grand Tournament for the new edition of Warhammer Age of Sigmar, which will be held in September. You’ll compete across five games over two days to prove yourself as the greatest general in the Mortal Realms, and the victor will receive a golden ticket qualifying them for a place at the World Championship of Warhammer. There will also be awards for Best General and Best Overall (combining favourite army and player votes), as well as Best Painted Army, Favourite Army, and Favourite Opponent.
This event takes place over the weekend of the 14th and 15th of September.
Amass a mighty army and test your wits against like-minded opponents in this matched play Warhammer: The Horus Heresy Legions Imperialis event. You’ll need to command your 2,500-point army in five missions over two days for your chance to take a trophy home. Players will also have a chance to vote for their Favourite Army and Opponent, and submit their armies for a judge-voted Best Painted award.
This event takes place over the weekend of the 24th and 25th of August.
Get ready to re-enter the Gnarlwood in this single-day Warcry event. You’ll need to bring a 1,000-point warband for a day of matched play, taking part in four matches, alongside a shot at the Favourite Warband award as judged by your peers.
This event takes place on the 11th of September.
Join forces with a friend to fight for honour, glory, and the fate of Middle-earth™ in the Team Championship 2024. Over the course of a weekend, you’ll face off against like-minded opponents in a series of five games. As well as vying for victory, you can also compete for the Favourite Army vote, Best Painted Team, and Most Sporting Team, and take part in the legendary Green Dragon Inn™ Pub Quiz.
This event takes place over the weekend of the 28th and 29th of September.
You can also express your mastery of Middle-earth™ at this one-day tournament, which is perfect for veterans and newcomers alike. You’ll face off against three opponents, and have the chance to submit a single model with the Hero keyword into a painting competition.
This event takes place on the 27th of September.
