It’s a big week for Warhammer 40,000 with the release of not one but two Mission Packs, new datasheet cards that will change the way that you look at terrain and a host of incredible terrain kits. Join us as we take a closer look.
Go Beyond the Veil
The first Mission Pack for Warhammer 40,000 Crusade games takes your force inside the mysterious Pariah Nexus. With 24 new missions, extra Agendas, Battle Traits, Relics and Battle Scars, this book is perfect for taking your Crusades to exciting new places.
There’s also a background section – so you know what to expect in this strange region of the galaxy – and new Afflictions and Theatre of War rules that recreate fighting within the Pariah Nexus.
Deadly Deployment
Players who prefer a more competitive game will want the new Chapter Approved Mission Pack. It focuses on Tactical Deployment – a new way of Warhammer 40,000 that sees players use their own terrain collections along with their army in order to achieve victory.
The book also features 18 brand-new matched play missions for you to play through.
The perfect partner for this Chapter Approved Mission Pack is the new set of Terrain Datasheet Cards. These contain all of the terrain rules for the new Battlezone: Manufactorum.
There are rules for both narrative and matched play, so whatever your preferred game style, you can take your terrain to the next level.
Superb Scenery
New rules are one thing, but some incredible new terrain is something else, and this week we have five fantastic kits for you. First up is Battlezone: Manufactorum – Vertigus and it’s a literal battlefield in a box. Featuring two double-sided gameboards and 24 pieces of terrain, it’s all you need if you’re kicking off a new terrain collection or adding to an existing one. There’s nothing better than watching your fighters bob and weave between ruins and pipes, dodging incoming fire as they try to claim that crucial objective or reach an enemy unit to brutally cut them down in combat.
Expand your battlefield even further with the Sanctum Administratus, Sub-cloister and Storang Fane, Munitorum Armoured Containers, and Conservators kits.
These are fully compatible with each other and the terrain pieces in the Warhammer 40,000 Command Edition and Warhammer 40,000 Command Edition Battlefield Expansion Set. All five kits have rules for both narrative and matched play in the datasheet card set. While each kit has been designed for Warhammer 40,000, they can easily be used to represent the battlefields of The Horus Heresy, the underhive of Necromunda, or the close confines of Kill Team. Even better, they’re out just in time for Armies on Parade, so you can use them to build an incredible board for your entry.
All of this is available to pre-order from games-workshop.com right now and will be on the shelves of your local Warhammer store from next Saturday.
