Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin Debuts its First Gameplay Trailer

Warhammer Age of Sigmar is a fantastical setting of gods, monsters, and mighty warriors battling for the fate of the Mortal Realms. It’s a world depicted in grandiose art and incredible miniatures, and it’s finally getting a video game adaptation that delivers action on the same jaw-dropping scale.

The team at Frontier Developments have been hard at work creating Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin, an action-packed real time strategy game. We’ve already seen a blistering cinematic trailer for the game, but today you can watch the first gameplay trailer.

It’s Stormcast Eternals vs Kruleboyz – two of the four factions available to play in Realms of Ruin. Every battle is a tug of war for control over command points, with units you’ll recognise from the tabletop, including the stalwart Liberators and winged Prosecutors battling with savage Gutrippaz, Man-Skewer Boltboyz, and Marshcrawla Sloggoths.

We’re pretty sure we caught a glimpse of a Stormdrake Guard  – there are plenty more units to unlock as you battle throughout Ghur. There are two further factions coming – but you’ll just have to wait to see who’s joining the fray.

The Open Beta runs from the 7th to the 10th of July, giving you the chance to try the action out for yourself. Keep an eye on the Warhammer Community site for more news on how to get involved!

When it’s released for real, Realms of Ruin will feature a full cinematic single-player campaign, as well as 1v1 and 2v2 cross-platform competitive multiplayer. The game has been designed for consoles and PC, and features a choice of controller-based inputs with DirectStep™ or standard mouse and keyboard controls on PC.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin is available to wishlist on PlayStation 5, Steam, and the Epic Games store right now, and is also coming to Xbox.
